Character Animation Test - "Sweeney"

Here's a pretty basic animation test for two of my characters, Lucy Lacemaker and Shuck. I'm working on a project of significance involving them and many more crawling creatures of the Kivouack.

I saw this video about a month before going to see Sweeney Todd live, and I heard it near the end and remembered this. I was then caught off guard by the ending. I would definitely recommend Sweeney Todd to someone who.... ah, I’d recommend it to anyone. Amazing animation!

@@iclynnx Then go look up the musical, it's better than the movie (in a lot of ways)! It's still not exactly for kids, but it's not quite as graphic and is a whole lot funnier. You can find the 1982 Broadway version on Vimeo and the original cast album is on KZbin to listen to. To answer your initial question, it's about this barber who was wrongfully exiled from London because the judge wanted dibs on his wife and baby. 15 years later he returns to London with the help of a young sailor. He uses the false identity "Sweeney Todd" so he doesn't get caught and sent away again. Todd goes to his old barber shop, which has a meat pie shop underneath it (first floor is the pie shop, there are stairs outside that go up to the barber shop). He enters the pie shop, where the lady running the joint recognizes him instantly (as she had a crush on him since back then). She tells him that the judge had seduced his wife and left her to rot in the streets, and took the baby daughter in as his own. The pie lady had also kept Todd's razors safely hidden and presents them to him. Now reunited with his "friends," he vows to exact his vengeance on the judge. One thing leads to a lot of other things, and eventually Todd decides to slice _all_ of his customers' throats, and the pie lady assists with disposing of the bodies by baking them into pies and selling them! The show chock-full of witty dark humor, and the music is uniquely beautiful (as well as very difficult to sing; the composer, Stephen Sondheim, is known as the Shakespeare of musicals). It's honestly become one of my all-time favorite musicals, it's truly worth checking out. My mom even enjoyed it, and she's not usually a fan of dark things.

This was the video that introduced me into Fennah's work, and I'm so glad I discovered it. I'm glad to have seen Satellite City and its characters evolve into The August Few. I really like it, but I feel like the snout or the part of the cheek that's close to the tear ducts need more movement. It feels sort of plastic when some muscles on the face don't move. Still a very good job though

Ahhhhhhhh I know what comes next but omg the animation was gorgeous and so clean and I would totally watch the whole movie with theses characters. Very interesting character models. A rather change of pace with the grim and gnarly aspect of the characters while others may seem to be working on slightly realistic if not cartoonish ones. Jolly good
