There's Steven Universe, you can create Pokemon Gym Leaders, MHA characters, fuck it a Trigun Stampede character, and that's all I can really think of rn :). I knew about the other Vision type theories. All except Dendro. And it seems that if I were ever in Teyvat and received a Vision, I'd probably be either Dendro or Electro. And I'm totally okay with either.

I just love the idea that Lixin could have a passive that makes it so that when it rains he WILL get steuck by lightning BUT cant be affected by it. It would be useful for exploring places like inazuma and such!

There is a designer character that is supposed to release during Fontaine version, her name is Chiori and she's from Inazuma. And no, it's not a leak, she's mentioned in the game and there's a Chioriya Boutique in Court of Fontaine that belongs to her. She also made outfits for both Lyney and Lynette and for Kirara as well.

On the topic of what each vision could be for, dendro does appear to be for wisdom or being in an academic space, the only one that doesn’t fully fit that is kirara but we don’t know to much about her, even Yao yao is a student.

Kirara got her Vision when she became a Nekomata, so when she found a higher or enlightened form as a Yokai and gained that wisdom. So it still works for her.

I feel like the dendro characters have come a long way and all have very strong personal philosophies. They have a lot of wisdom (information and growth coming from personal experiences and events), and sometimes/most of the time knowledge.

I think that the reason why the Cryo character feels the weakest is because she doesn't look Inazuman - she looks Snezhnayan. Pale hair colours are naturally more slavic, and the entire top portion of her design, bar the braided parts, are traditionally slavic with the hood, how it rests on her shoulders, and how the dress flows. From the sketch design before you said anything I thought "oh, Snezhnayan character!" before the reveal. Likely with a different headwear or different hair colour it'd feel a lot more Inazuman

I’ve been doing the exact same thing but really only for Yuki, I also thought adding some red, purple, gold, and black accents might helps her design feel a bit more Genshin. (red because she sells firewood, purple to give some more color pallette variety without much change, and gold and black becaues most genshin designs have them)

one thing i have notices is that 99% of genshin characters have gold details on them, not just Sumeru ones. If you look at a character and your eyes try to rest somewhere that is simple and flat, you can be sure that theres no such spot on their designs, and every little crevice has some kind of button, pattern, or trimming, and a lot of times, it is gold.

Funny to mention that he didn't know if there was a fashion designer in Genshin, since Chiori is a character from Inazuma that lives in Fontaine, and is mentioned in a Kirara voice line about how she made her clothes, and other Fontaine characters mention her too, so she should appear in one of the next versions

One thing I noticed in the designs in this video is that they are all very monochromatic. Genshin has monochromatic designs too, but I think they’re more subtle by adding black, white and other colors that separate the different areas in a way that’s easier on the eyes. I definitely recommend trying to add more black/white, brown or some metallic bits to future Genshin designs if you ever decide to do more! Overall the designs in this video are really cool, I loved Yuki ironically, she was my fave!

I think something that didn’t feel like good design was the hard stick to a single color spectrum. Especially your first two. They felt very one note and lacked versatility. In Yuki’s design maybe making all the rope parts a light brown would’ve broken up the blaring blue and white. Adding some pale greens and yellows as probably the color of the fur too. The second one just very blue. Like Neuvillette’s. Many Genshin characters have gold or silver accents in their outfits and going full “color of their vision” isn’t something commonly seen (like Childe, Wriothesley, Rosaria, Bennett, Kiara, etc). A lot of Genshin characters eyes or hair don’t even fit their element color like Fischl with Green or Kaveh with Red.

I agree, the designs felt incredible, but a lot of genshin characters have a variety of colors, so maybe even a hair change could help out. This is great advice in general. Yuki could have had golden colors for that straw look. I would love to see another video with refinement on some of the characters!

I think Genshin designs are a mix of "just use the colour of their element" (Ayaka, Neuvi, XQ, Raiden, Keqing, etc.) and "let's make their colour palette as far from their element as possible", like Heizou looking straight up geo, or Kazuha and Childe looking more pyro than anything. And I agree that Genshin never uses completely monocromatic designs.

I thought the same, I think its especially using both warm and cool toned colours. For example: Zhonglis cool grey suit is contrasted by orange geo colours and chestnut hair. Alhaithams mostly turqouise pallet has a lot of warm gold details. Childe also wears cool grey, but contrasted with red and orange

So fun! Love thease. I think the main thing you’re missing is the Metal or Bronze/gold/silver that is ever present on every single Genshin character. Some less than others but most have it enough to be a notable accent. I’ve been meaning to do an extensive look with a spreadsheet or somthing for Genshin designs, but this is one I’ve noticed and have a hard time implementing myself XD

Lixin and Beau seem to legitimately have that "Genshin Character Design" impression to them. Beau in the case, it would need to subdue a bit the green that is farther away from the face on the art just so it guides the eyes better to his beautiful smile, but overall they're looking solid! About Sai, I really like the idea, it seems the details lack a bit of standing out to really wrap his design up, its a lot of blue, and his hair could have been brown or golden blonde instead, it would bring more life to him. His overall backstory also indicate he could be an oddball that is hard to find, but is surprisingly outgoing and warm when you talk to him, so I smile would fit him better I feel, other than the sleepy, dreamy face. I agree the design got cluttered, so I guess you could instead have based yourself on the sailor military uniforms from older sailor japanese army or something.

I can see Yuki's vision story being that she wished so hard to stay with her new family, that the gods gave her a cryo vision so she wouldn't melt once spring came, thereby allowing her to grow up like most people. Hence the more adult form. Also, I can see Beau being a friendly competitor to Chiori, even going so far as to open up a shop in Inazuma to sell designs there. Imagine if he came up with Yuki and Sai's designs to accentuate their personalities. I also love the heels, as those were originally male fashion and not female fashion.

I love the designs! They are great, but to me they miss as character designs for Genshin Impact specifically and that's because there's a "spice" that I feel like has been missed in their design elements. Which is the fact that all the characters have one or two of the following: Gold or Silver accents Full credit to my very good friend who first brought this to my attention, this discussion is only because of the deep dive we had around the first genshin impact design video and the characters there so props to them! I think it might fix the issue with Yukis design to add a bit of gold or silver to the design, her colour palette is pretty monochrome and is honestly lovely to look at but the basket and the vision are the only things that give our eyes a break from the amount of blues and whites that are happening, so adding that touch of gold or silver may help with the idea that it doesn't look fully finished/that something doesn't sit quite right with it. Its the same with Sai too imo, I don't think theres too much design elements to it - although it could be that way, but Genshin designs are quite complicated in general so I think it fits more so than not - theres just so much blue its hard to know where I should be looking, it all sort of blends together with the only thing that isn't some sort of blue being the boat itself, so I think the adding of gold and silver could be worth it to sort of define things better and highlight parts of his character. Lixin and Beau are honestly lovely character designs, its hard to say what could be changed about them - Lixin does sort of have the gold/silver to them, I love this silly little weather man so much ngl its hard to say what I would do other than I think it feels oddly empty? Idk, but I like him I love Beaus character design as well but I think adding gold would elevate his design a lot too, like, idk i think he deserves gold smh Over all these character designs are cool as fuck and my comment is genuinely just a little like- thing, ig, but yeah! Love this!!

I loved your designs especially the electro one! But here is a constructive note, I recommend you not to use a color palette that only accepts different shades of one color. That's why the two Reshwan designs felt wrong, at least to me. But you did quite well with the rest of your designs.

Edit: I am shocked how much we had a similar thought process for two designs ideas, I created a fontain Ian fashion designer character for genshin as well when I noticed there wasn’t one, but i instead took the electro tall male route and gave him more of a showman personality. Idk if anyone said this or not but I head canon that if Beau was in the game he’d be Chiori’s mentor when she first arrived in Fontaine and even helped her open Chioriya Boutique. Maybe the outfits for the Fontaine characters she made where she included the ribbon of sorts was to pay homage to her mentor. (But that’s just me 😊)

All these designs are so lovely! Yuki's really nice, and I can see the backstory of her remaining with the human family past winter, and considering the myth she was based upon, there is the possibility that the snow children remain children due to existing during the winter, but as she continued to remain with humans past the season, Yuki eventually grew akin to a human due to no longer being bound to winter as a snow child. This is just a suggestion, of course. Your videos are all so lovely, and I really love watching them all so much! ❤❤❤

I think Beaus design fits genshin the most because its most colorful. The others were a bit too monochrome. I dont know if its true for all genshin characters, but I noticed that they usually have a mix of warm and cool colours in their design. Might help if you continue the series (which you definitely should!)

23:20 This is a really cool concept and I feel it ties in nicely with the outcast thing because of the fact that the ability to control the weather seems to be a divine power, and the 5 characters already given that ability are divine in some form. Perhaps he would sour the weather wherever he went, and it would be seen as a grave insult to the Archons who are supposed to be the wielders of that power, and is shunned as a result. Or perhaps people think Raiden is personally out to get him so stay away from him out of fear. So he finds a home in Liyue because it's a godless nation.

Do you ever wanted to try and do a redesign of drawings that you have already made? You mentioned refinements for Yuki and I think it would be amazing to see you showing that it’s okay to go back to characters that you’ve already made. I'm gonna be that one comment that designs kits for the characters because it's fun Yuki (4*): I wanted to take some inspiration from the splash art so her kit will feature snowmen Her elemental skill creates 5 icicles that spin slowly around the character and pulsate outward every couple seconds (similar to kuki's elemental skill) when the skill's duration ends it heals based off of her max hp. Her burst creates 3 snowmen that target an enemy and attack it. (similar to furina's skill) her 1st passive does something with inazuma expeditions. her 2nd passive converts her HP to attack after using her burst (that way the healing and damage split scaling won't make the character difficult to build) her 3rd passive gives her a cryo damage bonus after being off feild for 3 seconds. Sai (5*): Iliked the fish claymore inspiration and the idea of a giant fish tidal wave burst, so I've encorperated it into his kit. His elemental skill creates a whirlpool similar to kazuha's elemental skill and groups enemies into it. The aoe and strength of the grouping scales off of his hp. The damage of the skill also scales off his HP. His burst is a giant hydro nuke that summons a huge wave and deals big amounts of damage. The main damage is part of the wave but the wave also sends some fish flying around and they do tiny incriments of damage. Both the wave and the fish do damage scaling off of his HP. His 1st passive is for fishing and makes it easier to fish (which is really helpfull for people who don't have the catch) His 2nd passive increases his hp for every other dendro and hydro character in the party (because a hydro grouper is something a lot of bloom players feel they need) His 3rd passive increases his EM by a small portion of the entire team's EM. Lixin (5*): I loved the burst idea and so I want to keep that element to it. I also got inspiration from his splash art with the storm clouds and lightning bolts. Also the storm idea made me wat to encorporate electro charged into his kit because hydro and electro are both elements found in storms. beidou is also an electro character from liyue so I wanted her to be a good support for him. His elemental skill creates stormclouds that follow him around and strike lightning every other second, the chances of lightning striking are increased when he does a normal attack. the clouds can apply electro and the electro application isnt reliant on the lightning bolts. His burst does a giant electro nuke in an aoe around him and deals high amounts of damage. His 1st passive decreases the time he spends on expeditions by 2 hours every time there's a thunderstorm in liyue. His 2nd passive gives him an electro infusion for 10 seconds after using his skill. His 3rd passive gives him a 5% electro damage bonus for every electro charged reaction triggered. Max 4 stacks and each stack lasts for 8s each stack's timer is counted separately. Beau (5*): This one stumped me quite a bit but I think I got it now. The idea of him being sus and knowing more than he's letting on in any given conversation is something that I considered to be our favorite 3 letters RNG !!! His elemental skill is like nahida's that selects enemies and wraps them in ribbons and briefly applies anemo in case there's an element he can swirl additionally, an ousia aligned arkhe wi;; deal a small amount of anemo damage. the difference between him and nahida is that his anemo application isn't continuous. His burst is the fun rng stuff. there are 3 things that could happen here: number one is the manequins. Along side a substantial dmg buff, 3 manequins are thrown out in any direction and lure opponents to them, after they dissapear, they explode dealing anemo damage. Number 2, needles. Along side a substantial atk buff, 3 needles follow the character around and attack along side the character's normal attacks. Number 3, bows. Along side a 20% crit rate buff, the aoe of the character is surrounded by bows and apply anemo to opponents within the aoe. His 1st passive is a crafting passive. His 2nd passive increases his EM by 30 for every party member in the party, but decreases his atk by 18% for every pary member in the party. His 3rd passive increases every bonus by 40% whenever a character applies a buff, this does not apply to him. (and yes, beau's bow aoe can cause sunfire) feel free to design people's constellations in the repliess !!!!

Oh my gosh, I love Lixin and Beau SO MUCH! They are so beautiful and so atmospheric in some ways! They are both so pretty and I would LOVE to meet them in game! I’m also not the type of person to take a liking to flamboyant, gossipy characters but Beau sounds like a charmer!

I will say, other design characteristics I’ve noticed about most Genshin characters are that they have at least 2-3 distinct colors, I think usually bright or dark colors. Some characters may have a color that sticks heavily to a particular range but can be broken up with black, white or a mixed variation of original color Examples like: Raiden Shogun (Lots of purple, some purplish pink, dark red and gold accents) Lisa (Purple, white, fawn brown for her hair and green eyes) Kazuha (red, white and black, but Anemo vision provides a green blue contrast) Ayaka (variations of light to dark blues, has pink bow accents)

I really enjoyed Lixin, this guy would be the only person to hang out with Bennet imo they both just have the worst weather all the time and Bennets friend Fishl would not mind a man who is followed by the storm which would add to her edginess.
