Character Illustration in Illustrator vs Photoshop | What’s the Difference? (Tutorial)

I create illustrations using Ps and Ai combination, because it gives much more flexibility. How do you prefer to work? Do you use Illustrator or Photoshop? Or maybe you're using them both just like me?

Currently using affinity designer so i can switch to pixel persona which I can add texture like in photoshop :)

Hi! Maybe this way is not the worst, but with ai and ps you won’t have troubles with your clients and so on.

Hi! You can try this, but this is kinda weird way to start. Illustrator is not for drawing honestly!

the problem with brush tool in illustrator is it corrects your tracing,it´s not "natural" as it is in photoshop,where you draw as if you were using paper and pencil.

I've never tried in photoshop.... But it looks easier to apply textures in PS in comparison to illustrator as in ai... While applying textures the system slows alot

It depends on your style, but yes, this combo is good. Sketch-vector-animation.

In photoshop you are drawing a character. In Illustrator you are designing it. This especially makes a difference when you need to animate the character later on.
