My mom is a dressmaker and I once stood as her agent for cosplay commissions. There were great customers and there were demanding ones. It's hard to work on the quality of the work if the customer is so demanding and rushing. We always say to plan ahead of time but still they insist but don't want to pay the intended fee. There were a number of those people who we refused because of their attitude. Chiori's indifference is relatable.

I think it's less "darker" side, and more of the day to day. I think almost all of the Fontaine characters, sans the ones associated with the House of the Hearth, are in positions of power and privelege in Fontaine. Whereas Chiori and Chevreuse are in positions of influence, yes, but also far more used to dealing with the day to day issues of living in Fontaine.

I might reconsider and pull for her during one of her rerun because of her personality and Sass. The funny thing is, Chiori actually isn’t indifferent. It’s clear she cares about a lot of things: her values of first come first serve, defending her subordinate coworker, her time, and the quality of her work. Even though she tends to give the authorities no end of a headache.

I work in a grocery store and tons of my clients once they realise they made the mistake actually take it well and apologize and say it's fine and then that's it.
