Michelle raised and showed so many people that Asian girls can pave the way. I felt everything Bret said about her, she was truly the big sister figure that so many people didn’t have. 4:03 "i see beauty evolving into wellness. i see beauty evolving into consciousness." this was such a genuine and accurate answer. to me, beauty tutorials back in the day were made to get a specific or trending look. now i see beauty as a means of taking care of your emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual health, being your authentic self, and ACCENTUATING, not CHANGING. as a teen i remember doing makeup looks that wouldn't suit my asian features simply because it was considered "beautiful" at the time, but now i use makeup to enhance my natural features, allowing me to feel proud of them. beauty isn't about changing you, it's about LOVING you, taking care of YOU. absolutely loved this conversation between them both.

Michelle literally raised me lol I remember first watching her Barbie tutorial and thought how talented and beautiful she was. Her videos were like no other, she LITERALLY invented the term “ aesthetically pleasing” with just her voice and videos, Omgee. I cannot thank Michelle enough! And also loved her videos because she was literally about applying makeup in your everyday life, she didn’t show cut creases, heavy ass contouring or concealing, she literally related to everyone and that’s one of the reasons why I also love Bretman because he reminds me of Michelle. Michelle is honestly so lovely inside and out. When she spoke of being hurt by the people around her, them using her, taking from her, and then her leaving for a while that honestly really resonated with me. I went through the same thing and ended at the same conclusion but it took me ten years and the middle was tumultuous. Hurt/insecure people really do hurt other people. Be skeptical of people's intentions and take the time to figure them out before trusting them. Don't be afraid to set boundaries or get up and leave at the first sign of something seeming off. If you are at the level where you know someone is up to no good but you are able to bend the situation into something positive that is a godlike ability but not your responsibility. For anyone reading this I hope you find the peace I was searching for sooner than the ten years it took me.

This was the talk I didn’t know I need. I started my KZbin channel cause I wanted to share at a young age, growing up watching Michelle she always made me feel beautiful cause I grew up in the south and Asian and no other kids in school were like me I felt lost so I wanted to turn to something but I also was shy and doubting every videos I made. There’s some left on my channel but I deleted a lot of it and I regretted it. I just turned 30 and finally learned to be comfortable in my own skin and I am comfortable being vulnerable being on social and I find that now I have a lot more fun. Im happy to be back and be myself ❤
