GTA SA had the concept of character switching between CJ, Sweet and Cesar in its early development but unfortunately it was scrapped.

what happen if you try to do missions in GTA SA and GTA4

If you ever do a mission using character switching mod in GTA SA or GTA 4 unfortunately you'll no longer have the ability to access the character switching while doing a mission or any side missions it hoops up cj up or Niko however you can use them as a normal character to do like play video games,do some activities,roam in the map etc but there is no point of using of character switching mod since it doesn't include missions to do and makes the game kinda unimpressive to play

If I could make a mod to switch between characters in GTA III, I would probabbly put that you could switch between Claude and 8-Ball. And possibly Asuka Kasen to make it with a 3 player game, but Asuka doesn't fit with them, yes Asuka might have been Claude's boss and even friend but I dont think she would do missions by herself being the boss lol.
