Ive heard that the 2nd chimney starter is rubbish by another channel due to it not having enough holes but you could drill extra ones in if you wanted to.

Before I knew Weber had one I snatched up one at Walmart for $9.99. I have been using it for over a year with great results; no problems. I have recommended it to a lot of people.

A new video! Ilike it! Tipp: I use an natural egg carton to fire on, without oil, ... Does a great job. And also i use the coconut and the collapsable chimney for 2 1/2 year. For me the best couple. Greetings from Germany!

Thanks for the videos! I just bought the Weber 7447 compact rapid fire last week. It’s the perfect size for Dutch oven cooks and the Lodge sportsman’s grill. Just not as portable as the Camp Maid.

Very informative video! You should definitely try out the Easy Flow Smokers charcoal chimney starters, I got mine not long ago and man does it go! Definitely made to last and made in good old Texas!

Good comparison. I do love my CampMaid starter and that coconut charcoal does work great.

That campmaid starter looks like a quality piece. I have the big weber chimney and I always feel like it's a little too big for dutch oven stuff. Unless you're using more than one DO. I was very impressed with the campmaid charcoal. I might have to try that out.Really looked like you would get more time out of it. Great comparison.

Good informative video! We will use the newer, smaller, Weber Chimney Starter when camping. It is easier to travel with, but does not collapse, or fit inside a 12" Dutch Oven. I'd like to see a comparison of the smaller Weber versus the Campmaid chimney starters, next.

Thank you for informing us on the new compact Weber Chimney Starter. I just put that up on our Amazon Store. We will have to get one of those and compare it with the Campmaid. Thanks for watching and commenting.

If you're doing an experiment/ comparison you can't have two variables. Use the same charcoal for each chimney. You can't do both at the same time. Different charcoal and different chimneys. It doesn't work that way.

I've done a test with Kingsford Professional and Royal Oak lump. I've hope to do some more testing in the future. I would have liked to know the temperatures of each. Otherwise, I enjoyed seeing your results! Nice job!

It’s a shame you didn’t put the same coal in all the chimneys. Pretty pointless video to be honest. Each coal should have had a chance to try all three chimneys for a more accurate test.

I have had the cheap chimney starter since around August of 2016 and its still in good condition. I am sure you grill more than I but I do grill and it has been used.

That CampMaid chimney needs larger holes on the sides so that the coals are ready faster. The holes are about half the size they need to be. A thicker handle is needed, too. It would be a pretty awesome chimney if they modified those 2 things alone.

I'm thinking the coconut stuff took longer because of the less surface area exposed to the initial flame. It is a smaller chimney, so the coals are stacked up on each other, rather than more spread out like the ones in the Webber. I don't really worry about start time, but burn time, BTUs and flavor. Does the coconut stuff give good flavor?
@BackwoodsGourmetChannel

The coconut charcoal does not impart any flavor. Made for Dutch Oven Cooking.

You also use less coconut coals to cook with, saves you a bunch of space packing too. Sportsman Warehouse is selling the collapsible for $25 today.

Or you could just switch to all natural, lump charcoal for everything. Lights faster, burns hotter, last longer & the ash always goes in the compost pile.
