In this video, I decided to do an experiment and make some charcoal. This is some thing I’ve never tried before, but I figured as long as I was going to be burning last year‘s brush that I cut down around our off grid abandoned hunting camp, I might as well put the fire to use, I hope you enjoy this video and that it was informative to you. This is easy to do as you can see it was my first time. Thanks for watching and God bless.

Yep, if you want a black powder rifle, you can make your own if you have the recipe and the know how. I like the fact that it has so many uses and it does not appear to be hard to make it. Good talking with you and God bless you brother

We're just outside of town here near you, we built a cinder block rocket stove a few years back to make our charcoal in - same concept but I can still process on no-burn days. 😉 One suggestion, we drilled smaller holes in the bottom of the bucket instead of the top - then once the gasification process kicks off the fire will wrap up around the container and help finish the process for you. I start my fire using only birch bark and cardboard, and let the wood itself fuel the rest of the process.

That’s good information to know, thank you. I’ve seen a few different ways to do this. The one I used seem to be the simplest. I like the rocket stove idea because you can use less wood to get the same job done. I totally understand the concept of rockets as I have built them before.I figured as long as I was cutting branches and trimming back some trees to open up the area around our cabin I wouldn’t be wasting much wood to make the charcoal. I appreciate the information. Thanks again.
