A kid in my 10th grade English class read Johnathan Livingston Seagull for a book report. Because it was the only thing short enough for him to read. I will always remember the him constantly thanking the teacher for handing it to him.

LOVE your videos Charlotte! Always a pleasure to hear your thoughts on the books you read, you raise a lot of very interesting themes and you frame your opinions really eloquently! My two favourite books from last year were 'The Idiot' by Elif Batuman, and 'Writers & Lovers' by Lily King. Looking forward to your next update! Hello from Canada.

So glad to see you’re back ! I bought Philip Gourevitch’s book after seeing it on your channel. I still have to read it. I was on the bored side for Never Let me go and I DFN’ed it. That little book about the afterlife looks really good ! Your dog is so cute ☺️

I read The Silk Roads last year too! Your other rec looks really interesting, I'm going to propose it for my book club, thanks!

@@Chareads I think you'll like it! Although it does give you the same feeling as The Silk Roads in that you wish it would have a new edition every 10 years.
