Thanks for your feedback... if you have a moment then give us a call (562)425-9000 and talk to one of our tech experts. there is no such thing as an ideal Lipo charger, for the most part, if it charges your batteries and gives you an indication of Voltage and Amp then it is good enough. Hi man, I'm learning a lot from you, thanks for everything, I have a question you might find stupid but Its a real question for me , I would appreciate your help, I want to know in which way I'm spending more electricity when charging lipo batteries please? for example let say I want to charge (12) 4S 1500 mah batteries and I have a 200w 12A charger with 2 spot for charging ( like isdt D2 charger ) I can charge all 12 batteries at once by using parallel charging in just one hour,, also I can charge them one by one and each take one hour in parallel charging the fans of charger blow all the time , but if I charge them one by one the fan just work few minute once in a while, I like to know in which way I'm using more electricity ? thanks a lot
@Rcstreetshop6 жыл бұрын
With 12 batteries you are limited with Power(Wattage) of your charger, and the necessity to balance each lipo while charging. although Watts = Volts * Amps, the only "accurate" way to really tell is to plug the battery in and see how much wattage it needs. Some chargers even adjust the max Amperage, when you set the battery setting before charging begins... so it depends. What is more crucial is that you need to balance each battery/cell while charging...so charging 12 4S batteries at a time in parallel is not recommended unless you have ways to balance them (by basically having 12 balancers). Your fans go off because charging two batteries drains a lot power and it needs to cool down electronic components.

Hi, great video as I am just starting to get in to lipos. I purchased a Traxxas charger and a Traxxas 5800mah 2s lipo for my stampede. I noticed the battery is in a soft case but I am planning to jump and bash my truck as Traxxas shows in their videos. Will this damage the battery and cause a fire later on? Why does Traxxas use/recommend soft cases in their lipos vs hard cases?
@Rcstreetshop6 жыл бұрын
It is hard to say why Traxxas does it one way vs the other, but regardless, it is always a good idea to add extra layer of protection, no matter how you plan to ride/play with it. Batteries do not like direct impacts, but if you physically do not hit the battery, then everything will be safe.
@toddlaplanteVT856 жыл бұрын
One other thing to add about soft case lipos that may not be oblivious at first.. if you have a hard case lipo, there is no way for you to physically "see" the cells so if one was starting to swell or puff, you may not notice it til it's to late w/a hard case lipo. Not that I'm against them.. I've run both soft and hard case lipos for years and never had a problem with either

Its never a good idea to push electronics to the limit, but if you do not abuse it, nothing bad is going to happen. Hitec has safety cut offs, so you should be good.

It is definitely safe for any batter over 1000mah, but not necessarily optimal. The golden rule is to charge with 1C charge rate or 1x of capacity. So if you have 1000Mh pack your "safe charge" should be 1A and if you have 5000Mah pack, then it is 5A

My charger has the option to cut off when it reaches 5400 mAh (That’s obviously what I set it to because it is a 5400 MAH battery). It depends on the charger, but "usually" it just ballances

First time RC enthusiast here. I have a 50C-5000mAh-3c charge rate-2s 7.v Battery and the charger has 1A 2A 3a and 4a Switches which should i use? from my understanding for each 1000 is 1a charge rate? I'm reading on using the 5A but only have 4A is it safe? I assume it will just take longer to fully charge? ((i have a fire extinguisher on standby lol )

Correct.You should be using 4A and although it is going to be a bit longer (1,20h instead of 1h), but it is actually be safer (you are not putting to much current on the battery hence not stressing anything).

Can you do a 5200mAH Zeee battery I don't think mine is working properly.
@Rcstreetshop4 жыл бұрын
The battery is a power source, it shouldn't matter what brand it is.

Is it necessary to have a ammo box to charge lipo batteries in. And to store the batteries in? Or is a lipo bag enough? What room temperature should lipo be kept? Are lipo batteries safe in hot weather. Can I transport lipos in hot car.
@Rcstreetshop6 жыл бұрын
If you do everything right, then even a lipo bag is a bit too much....you don't need these, unless you charge Lipo batteries with wrong charger (or setting) or you charge a damaged pack. You may totally treat Lipo batteries like any other batteries, just don't drop them or shortcut. Hot weather/car is OK.

Thanks so much I am just getting my first Lipo battery. And am a little uneasy about the whole thing been watching KZbin seeing a lot of people store their batteries in ammo boxes.
@Rcstreetshop6 жыл бұрын
If you know how to properly charge then even lipo-bag is unnecessary. We charge Lipos everyday...actually 5-10 times a day.....and still OK after all these years...

I have a question that I couldn't find the answer too. Do you plug in the charger in prior to connecting battery or vice versa?
@Rcstreetshop4 жыл бұрын
You first power on charger and then you plug the battery in

I charge all my 5000 to 5500 mah battery at .7 for years is that a problem I mean it takes forever but they last a long time
@Rcstreetshop5 жыл бұрын
No, it is not a problem, it is just going to take 7 hours instead of 1. But on the other hand, it is better for your battery when you charge it on slow charger.
