I have a John Deere Gator charging question..I have a 6x4 with a Vangaurd 23 hp . My machine was replaced with the Vangaurd , I’ve had it for about 3 years and it has always giving me problems with a dead battery . My question is , which wire would be bringing the charge back to the battery ? I’ve tested the stator and it is working @ idle I’m getting 12.5 v out … I’m not great with electrical , but I’m trying to learn. The wire that I tested goes back into the voltage regulator, and back up to the ignition switch. How does the electricity get back into to battery ?

Having a charging problem on my 1998 john deere gator. I replaced the voltage regulator and it worked for a while but then I had the same starting problem again. Is there a specific regulator for a gator.

I would like to know on the Gator it the variable pulley drive. Is there routine maintenance that has to be done. On my Gator, when cold, it seems like I need to rev it up to engage.

Hi. I have an xuv550. The battery won't stay charged between starts. Could it be the alternator? Thank you

I Have a tx 4x2 (golf cart style) meaning turn the key on and then when you hit the throttle it turns the motor on. It will run normal for a while but then it will fail to restart and if I put a jump box to it it will run normal. I've been told the starter on top is also a generator I know it has a stator as well. I am slightly at a loss on where to start. Any help is appreciated.

Hey, Where's the alternator on that thing? Thought it would have a stator, but it has an alternator. I'm assuming it's belt driven. Is that crazy looking thing that looks like a cake pan lid/cover?
@THEMOWERMEDIC12 жыл бұрын
Under the flywheel.
@philliptaylor59812 жыл бұрын
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 If it's under the flywheel that wouldn't be an alternator though? That would be a stator?

OK set a Delco Remy alternator in front of you in point to the stator. Am I making sense now?
@JosephBoscoe Жыл бұрын
they are similar in design as your commercial mowers thet rumn off from behind the flywheel. they have a stator system that produces ac current the your regtifier converts that to dc
@JosephBoscoe Жыл бұрын
sorry typos galore rectifier or regulator they have a built in stator that produces the ac neede

I have an M Gator 6x4 and I was wondering if the generator/alternator can be upgraded. I would like to put a 750W inverter in mine so that I could run my circular saw and other tools around my property and I just don't think the little one that is on there is going to handle that kind of load. What do you think?
@THEMOWERMEDIC13 жыл бұрын
The circular saw draws about 1200 watts running and 1700 watts to start
@rehoboth_farm3 жыл бұрын
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 So my inverter isn't big enough anyway and if I go out and buy a new 2kw inverter I may as well just get a new battery powered dewalt circular saw. Well, darn. Thanks.

Check stator winding for Shorts
@JosephBoscoe Жыл бұрын
look for a discolored or melted plastic connectors at the regulater. as the machines age the resistance rises in your charging circuits so see if you have obvious heating issues especially where it all grounds. Also look for dirty or corroded battery connections especially the ground sides. and always check charging after the battery is charged. Good luck and always be safe around any electrical.
