Hello, friends! Please, allow me to reinforce some VERY IMPORTANT advice from Sorin here: DO NOT TRY TO SOLDER WIRES ON CR2032 BATTERIES (or any battery, but specially on CR2032 "coins"). They get very hot very quickly and explode on your face, throwing acid everywhere and burning your skin (yeah, it happened to me, and I was VERY lucky that the acid didn't get to my retina, but it was a very close call). Washing with water just makes it 10 times worse, as the water reacts with the acid (yeah, also learned that the hard way). And yes, I know it works sometimes. It worked 10 times for me before the last one exploded. Don't do it, it's not worth it. Buy a battery spot welder if you need to attach things to batteries and be happy. Happy 2025!!!

there is a special tool for that , works with electricity not heat and can solder a little plate on the battery without damage , it solders thee plate with high current , so the way do it , you solder to the little plate your cable and the plate you attach it to the battery with the special tool that uses high current to solder

I think it can be the voltage divider resistors which measure the battery voltage. But it can be also an issue with the control PCB inside the battery.

Check the gate voltage. I think maybe there is some overshoot of voltage gate and maybe this causes to burn the mosfet. And check on the pcb traces if there is any gate resistor. And maybe changing that value will prevent in the future to happen again

You do not need to solder them. Just rip off the tabs, then use another CR2032 battery and attach the tabs to the new battery using tape, you use a conductive tape and then isolate everything with electrical tape. Have been done it for years. Never bought any coin battery with cable, they are not that cheap.

actually is possible to use a normal battery there but you need to put a diode before the battery to stop the battery charge because of corse the cr2032 are not rechargeable. :/
