Phenomenal! Thank you Schawn and thank you Tony Thornton for the input as well. This community, or family on Joe Everest’s channel, is amazing already and getting better with every video I see.

Pricing by foot is fine but you have to separate material and labor pricing. Always round up for material linear footage, including chain link and wood to avoid waste issues. And always use the word “approximately” to avoid the headache of someone attempting to hold exact linear footage quoted against you.

This is great information but now we step back to how to figure out your per section price?

Good question I was thinking the same thing

$10 per foot labor, 8ft section equals $80 labor per section. That way you dont lose money on cut sections

Build 3 2x4x8. 1 4x4 post 1 Crete and 16 pickets. Add $3 for nails. That's your 8ft cost.

Can you make a video on how you get the price per post? I know it’s based on prices around me but I just feel like I’m doing something wrong…

I had a customer call and ask for a discount today. I planned on ignoring her. Until I watched While i was watching this I decided to test the theory. I drew it on paper and realized I could charge much less if i did this by section and asked the customer to come in a few feet on her fence.

I get your point however im in canada . We all knoe in fencing its 60/40 60 materials and 40 labor. So for me to make my money on a fence i place a marker on my materials and charge 26-30 per foot for every 100ft. If its under 100 feet i dont charge by feet i just charge per job
@Jay-py1ow Жыл бұрын
You guys are only making 10-15%?!?! I make atleast 40% on every job..I’m a smaller business so I’m assuming you’re talking about larger fence businesses?

This wouldn’t work in a residential neighborhood with property lines designating the fence dimensions.
@xrayded50372 жыл бұрын
Your right but if you cut the fence off the ground you save money on putting it in there 1 foot off. You will save time on taking off the concrete means your saving money. The $2.33 your wasting goes back into your labor and that’s more expensive. The $72 bucks on my 2 man crew ain’t worth it to dig out the concrete… make a smaller section is a win cause your saving time and that equals money :) 8 ft sections suck causa dudes back in my area would pour 200 lbs of concrete per post… that’s a humans body’s weight lol 😂
