Ok so a family member just bought a used 2016 spark ev from carmax with 60k miles on it and I was wondering how I could check the battery degradation from just the vehicle software. And is there a way to get a brand new battery from gm?

If the battery fails under warranty, GM should honor the warranty and replace it. Outside of that singular situation I wouldn’t count on there being any reasonable option for battery replacement. Unfortunately these cars are too few and too inexpensive to make it rewarding for any company to invest in aftermarket options. And once the warranty expires, I do not expect GM to provide any support for the vehicle. That being said, they still list the new battery pack in their parts system for $30k, so maybe there’s that option. (But why would anyone bother at that point?)

I sincerely hope that you get a good year or two of enjoyment out of that car though! They’re great when they work!

You should try on the 100kW EVgo at WAWA at Brook rd :)

@@EVResource London Broiler showed SparkEV peak power at 55 kW at 77%, so you could see few percent quicker time, maybe 11.25 minutes instead of 12.

have you had any battery degredation? im looking at buying a 2015 that has 60 thousand miles i commute 40 miles to work one way but im just worried about battery life

Yes, my battery has degraded to roughly 70% of the original capacity, which is a bit more than most Spark EV with similar mileage. Likely because of how often I fast charge.
