Hi Kate. You could try cleaning your spoons with silver polish as they have probably tarnished over the years. I have inherited quite a few bits of silverware and have buffed up lovely with the polish. Of course if using them you will need to rinse them after polishing. Lovely haul. Happy New Year Kate...... Great haul as usual ! Love what you bought for Luke. He is really into the Vintage Le Creuset. As for the Silver Cutlery it is starting to tarnish hence the colour. A quick polish with a Silver Cloth will bring them back to life- they were a great find but, unless you don't mind fairly frequent cleaning, I would store them in the boxes as the dark seems to lessen the tarnishing. That Picnic Basket is Fab. You could use it for firewood.

Hi ya Kate! Happy New Year to you & your followers! Those glasses are I believe for desserts. The scarf was lovely The silver plate spoons are probably gilt (meaning that they have a thin layer of gold to protect them from acidity in some foods), so I believe that they were for serving.

Hello Kate Happy new year! The basket is beautiful, you could use it for anything or a large picnic as looks like it's to put bottles in the side. I love the glasses, unusual colour and pretty. If those marks inside the Le Creuset are metal serving spoon marks, they'll come off with pink stuff paste (like you can get spoon marks out of mugs) 🎉
