I'm currently trying to get into the charity/non-profit sector and had a real light-bulb moment watching this! I love what Francine said about not having to tick every box; I'm definitely guilty of trying to answer every part of the job description and ending up with pages and pages for the employer to go through! It's great to know that I can just stick to the key points that most apply to me and sell myself on those. Thanks for the advice!

This video is such an eye opener. For someone with experience from outside the UK, this episode and Michelle's episode are so insightful. They've given me the confidence to keep applying for charity jobs. I work in charity retail but my eyes are on an office role.

Wonderful video. I am very agreeable to what Francine said. I too came from a different sector and confidently secured a third sector charity managerial role. Content not to dissimilar to the one mentioned. I believe that it is very much a wish list on both sides as they are elements of the job description that you the candidate will want to do too. So very happy that I have a 9 to Alive work life balance which has been a huge adjustment from shift work but very worthy one. The social life is so much more fun and friendly, greatly need down time when the cause/mission is a driver. I am going to look into the fast-track course to help me improve my initial experience, i want to build upon it and understand how the charity cogs work and run beyond my standing.
