2020 SKB Tackle Boxes

SKB makes excellent cases, tops in professional music instrument transport cases, golf club and military cases. Their tackle boxes are the top of the line, replacing the older wooden boxes old timers used in years gone by. The rotomolded cases are darn close to indestructable, and their soft side backpack case is a winner as well. SKB manufactures their totomolded case products in the USA, SoCal. The backpack model is an import, but one which has been on the market now for close to 20 years time. It's been refined over time, is as good as it gets for its type.

I have that tak pak (soft pack) and love it. Top inside pieces are dividers and the lunch box will strap onto the bottom. You can adjust the inside slats down or up slightly to fit another 3600 case. I have 4 3600 cases and one deep 3600 in mine. Holds a lot more than you would think.

I like the back pack idea but are the shoulder straps capable of holding up to the weight of irons and heavy torpid sinkers?

For what one would use for a trip of up to 5 days, it's just fine with plenty of strength. I've never heard of a problem with these bags and I've carried them since they were first introduced over 15 years ago. SKB's warranty is the best in the business.

I have like a dozen yo yo irons and several 20-8oz torpedo sinkers and a hand full of colt snipers for tuna trips plus other gear that just add more weight.

I have a fishing buddy that carries just about the same gear I do and his Shimano back pack couldn’t handle the weight. We’ll be coming by your shop soon and check out what you have.

Good question, and that's exactly what I did with mine Robert. They fit just fine, not inexpensive, downright pricey, but I'm glad I bought a few. Much nicer boxes.

Yep, I upgraded mine to these. Very nice upgrade. Not inexpensive, but they'll last longer and perform better (my hooks and small rings are not winding up in different slots...).
