Pete has been so open about his Borderline Personality Disorder. Suicidal ideation is common, so glad he knows how to manage his symptoms. I am bipolar and he has inspired me to be more vulnerable about my disorder and help people understand me.

it’s so nice having someone with BPD who has a huge audience and feels comfortable being open about it. being suicidal is part of the diagnostic criteria for BPD. we are suicidal every day, all the time - but we aren’t allowed to talk about it or we get sectioned. it’s just refreshing hearing someone say it.
@spicy_nutmeg2 жыл бұрын
@@shneonucrzydmnd i didn’t say it was a necessary component, but it IS part of the diagnostic criteria. There are 9 diagnostic criterion and you need to have at least 5 to be diagnosed. approximately 70% of those with BPD attempt suicide at least once, and that isn’t counting those who suffer with chronic ideation and do not act on it. MOST of those with BPD have chronic suicidal ideation. that is a fact. please do not downplay what i and many people experience everyday.
@spicy_nutmeg2 жыл бұрын
@@shneonucrzydmnd there are also many disorders that overlap symptoms with BPD, and maybe subsets of BPD. people need to not assume that you only need “some” symptoms to have BPD - it’s 5 out of the 9, and they’re very specific. if you’re having 4 of the 9 it’s not BPD, it’s something else. Cluster B diagnosis is not taken lightly.

Mac Miller’s Watching Movies With The Sound Off was such an important album to me back in HS. And in my freshman year I would listen to Kool Aid and Frozen Pizza and Nikes on my feet on repeat. Mac really did a lot for me then. And my favorite track off of WMWTSO was Aquarium. Man I still can’t believe he’s gone. It’s like not even real. Rap Diablo was the last thing I listened to by him. I know he had more projects that came out after, but for me the songs and album I mentioned really helped defined my teenage years. Thank you Mac. 🙏🏽

I always loved this interview. As a Mac fan, an Ari fan AND a Pete fan you can tell that all each man had was love for Ari. You can definitely tell by the way Pete talks that he loved the shit out of Ari for their short amount of time together. He respected that she was grieving for her ex love and by the way he described it, he knew it was over when Mac died. He never pushed her or anything. He seems like he had a lot of respect for the entire situation and I feel really bad that they weren’t able to save their relationship. Pete deserves the entire world and deserves a women who will strive to give it to him. And I’m glad Ari was able to heal and move on and find someone to love❤️ I just wish Mac was still here 🥺😔

I used to be depressed and do drugs and I have even tried suicide… I used to take allot of drugs and I didn’t like myself. Quitting drugs ( even weed) and learning to love myself helped pull me from my depression…..interesting side note : I am from Pittsburgh. Same city as Mac miller. I was In Rehab with one of his closest friends and someone that was part of his inner circle. We do a thing in rehab called “ chemical history” where we pretty much tell our story from start to finish and it was interesting and eye opening hearing this dudes story. Heroin is big in Pittsburgh and I’m happy to say I have 5 years clean from heroin and I am not depressed anymore. I have 3 children and am truly blessed . If you are struggling…… try something you never tried before(rehab, detox, school, work…etc.) and you will get something you never had. Rest In Peace Malcolm

As a recovering addict, 10+ years clean (since 2010), but I am a medical 🌱 Cannabis patient, I support that! Cannabis saved my life. My daughter turned me onto Pete, she is also a minor medical Cannabis patient. I mean, Of course I knew who he was, I don’t live under a rock 😂 I thought he was hilarious, but I wasn’t this huge fan, but Now, I absolutely adore Pete Davidson. I wasn’t a MGK fan (still am not a fan, can’t name one song except his Em diss & I have to give credit where credit is due), but because of Pete, I have a new respect for MGK as a father at least, but their Lie Detector video (what was it Vanity Fair or something) made me have a new respect for MGK. I guess seeing their friendship & genuine bond , love & respect for each other made me have a respect for him. But as far as Pete... everyone in my home absolutely love, Love, LOVES Pete Davidson. My Daughter suffers from some of the same things Pete Suffers from. She’s had Anxiety, Depression & suicidal since Middle school. Then diagnosed with PTSD in the 9th grade & just recently Bipolar & talk of BPD & manic episodes or something like that. As a mom, it’s hard seeing your baby suffer. Thank god for the Arts. Her passion is what keeps her going. I know how my daughter feels. We have just about all the same diagnoses. I’ve never been diagnosed with PTSD, But the life I lived, experiences I’ve been through, like being held against my will, having to protect myself, having guns shoved in my mouth, being shot at, almost raped & having to fight for my life, etc... I’d say I have it, but I too was diagnosed with Anxiety & Depression at 11 years old, after meeting my biological mother for the 1st time at 10 years old. My father raised me from day one as a single father ( all his hippy & biker friends helped 😂) & did everything he could to raise me with so much love, attention, material things, etc.. but there was always that darkness, emptiness & those racing thoughts. & the first time meeting biomom, the butterflies were so bad, they never left. All the thoughts racing through my head “Do I call her mom or Bonnie, do I say I love you, because Do I? I don’t know her! Do I ask all the questions I’m dying to ask? Or will I hurt her feelings? Why did you keep 2 kids you had after me? Did I do something? Will she get mad at me & abandon me again? Do I hug her or shake her hand? What if she doesn’t like me? Maybe I shouldn’t have cut my hair like “Baby” from Dirty Dancing, mom has long hair, maybe she likes long hair, I shouldn’t have cut my hair. She would have loved my long hair, panic!!!! Etc.. etc.. “ & as a 10 year old I didn’t understand. I lived my life with constant anxiety. Butterflies in my stomach were a nuisance. The racing thoughts were a constant. Until I was 38! I finally learned how to retrain my brain. I’m not going to say I’m 100% cured, but damn near. I use to have at least 3-5 panic attacks a day & lived on Alprazolam & other benzos & the rest of my “cocktail” just to feel normal, most my life, & self medicated with street drugs, but now, I may have 3-5 panic attacks a year & it’s usually really bad times & financial related. Besides that, I have learned how to be consciously aware of my thoughts, feelings, emotions, actions, etc.. & I tell you what, I never realized how important what we think & say out loud & write, can be to us & how much it impacts our lives. Our mind is the most powerful tool the Universe gave us. Use it 🤗 I suggest watching some Dr. Bruce Lipton videos, Vishen from Mindvalley, Impact Theory, people & accounts like those. Also, start meditating. I use to laugh when people suggested things like that, but now, I suggest it to everyone. I am so much mentally stronger & healthier then ever, physically healthier. I even lost over 100 lbs using binaural beats! No diet or exercise, don’t laugh til you research it. It’s scientific. Even look up “Frequencies shattering cancer”. Cool stuff! The human brain & our subconscious are incredible things. Much love & respect to Pete Davidson.

(Rip Mac miller my idol ily) but could you imagine being the default villain in the fans eyes just because you're dating someone. Imagine the thoughts and pain that went through his head as a result of that? Sad part is nobody ever sympathizes for him. And that's the same shit that made mac do them drugs because the fans weren't fucking with his album but did any of them stop to think "hey maybe we should stop cyber bullying mac miller bcuz we didn't like his album" ...... It's a never ending cycle

Totally recognize that he has depression, from his demeanor and what he says. “I’m always depressed, I’m depressed right now”. I can relate. Seems like lots of funny guys are depressed. Coping mechanism. But doesn’t address nor cure it. Actually there really doesn’t seem to he a cure.
@kristacalai97733 жыл бұрын
Personally, antidepressants didn’t work very well for me. Probably because I wasnt taking very good care of myself when I was taking those. Once I started getting a good amount of exercise and eating right, my depression seemed to work itself out. honestly worked wonders for me. Also not being on my phone too much and being present as much as possible helps a lot.

I had non-stop clinical depression for about five years as a teen. I know exactly, exactly what he is talking about. I was convincing myself not to attempt suicide for years, hoping it would always get better. I am glad I stuck around, but I really, really get what Pete is talking about.

I relate to Pete a lot. Him and I go through the same mental bullshit. It's hell living like that. Wanting to wake up wanting to cry cause you woke up into a panic attack. Suicidal tendencies are a bitch for real. Also it's bullshit how these young rappers are heavily influenced into popping pills. It's all fun and games until ya die. Also respect for respect to Mac like that. Pete knows he gets a lot of hate for dating her after he passed.

The synonym for depression is sadness. Sadness is not a disease, neither is depression. Depression cannot be diagnosed, meaning a person must diagnose themselves. They essentially accept they are permanently sad and make this self diagnosis their identity. Choosing depression is the wrong choice, only way to diagnose is by accepting you have depression, meaning you made the wrong choice. Sadness was your choice. Life is simply a series of ups and downs, if you only see the downs you can only blame yourself.

Fair play to Pete for this man. As a big Ariana fan, I personally don’t understand why he gets so much hate. Like what would you even do in that situation when the person your with, their ex passes away, like you know at that point, your relationship ain’t gonna be the same and is pretty much over. And he even said no bad things about them in this.
