Yup, you actually have to make a conscious effort into trying to like the new Kanye albums, the most common excuse for them, by Kanye himself, is that they're somehow futuristic or innovative or abstract, however they are neither futuristic nor innovative, leaving only one excuse which is that they're abstract. This is certainly true, however, that also means that in today's day and age they will never be considered anything but forgettable whereas his first 3 albums in trilogy will be what he was always remembered by. Those albums took the nation by storm, they did not need any effort to be liked, they were fresh, innovative, and paved the way for tons of hip hop artists to come. Did you ever notice though that no one needed to try and argue or rationalize that at the time? No one needed to make an argument for why they were what they were because it was simply a fact, the proof was in the pudding as artists like Cudi, Big Sean, Chance the Rapper, plenty more etc started their careers by matching that old soul mixed with big beat hip hop music that Kanye brought right to the forefront. Even 808s and Heartbreak paved the way for autotune rap and artists like Vic Mensa and Travis $cott. MBDTF was an album within its own, so unique and cohesive that trying to recreate the sound was nearly impossible without being called out for being a total copycat. Kanye's old albums were everything that Kanye was trying to be on his new albums the only difference being that they actually were those things, futuristic and innovative, as opposed to having the artist proclaim that it would be as his own biggest hype man for his past 2 albums. I remember seeing kanye in 2006 at the late registration tour in Buffalo NY. Ridiculous. I saw him again for the Yeezus tour and no one was even dancing or moving becuase none of it was good for that. People were staring at him with their phones up like they were watching a circus act. It was dumb as fuck "No one man should have all that power" now we know the reason for that... a Paris studio full of yes men and designer drugs led by an overly inflated ego produces music of a lower stock

you couldn't have said it any better man i honestly feel to be a great musician and make great music it can't be your main source of income like its great if you get paid to do it but you can't let it be your only source of income because thats when you start putting out what you think people want to hear or whats popular you have to do it because you love it people will always try to exploit you but you have to let the music be pure I'm still waiting for the mike jack of my generation i know he's out there somewhere

You sound ignorant the Egyptians studied astronomy in order to align the pyramids with the stars. Hence providing similar traits in our characteristics whether you choose to belief this is your choice. But don't dismiss the man for mentioning it.

I RESPECT YOUR OPINION BUT, CONTRARY TO WHAT YOU COMMENTED ON I WOULD LIKE FOR YOU NOT TO BELIEVE ME BUT ACTUALLY READ ASTROLOGICAL SIGNS AND WHEN YOU MEET PPL PUT THE THEORY TO THE TEST AND THEN YOU CAN BE THE JUDGE FOR YOURSELF ACCORDING TO THEIR SIGN. Kanye Kardashian is the perfect term ... anything with "Kardashian" attached is synonymous with Corporate created, profit grabbing propaganda machine ...
@atomgonuclear11 жыл бұрын
The problem with Kanye is that he mistakes admiration for his music as admiration for him as a person. When people listen to your music it does not mean that they agree with anything you stand for. A true revolutionary doesn't just rant about change. A true revolutionary actually puts potential into the hands of their followers. Whether it's a gun or an idea. Kanye has done nothing for the human race other than put out some cool music and a pair of shoes. He can attack corporations all he wants, but many corporations have done more to advance the potential of the human race than his music ever will. Apple brought technology and convenience to the world that was seen never before. People gladly gave them their billions, because they provided a service that was valuable. Pharmaceutical companies didn't make billions by scamming and enslaving people(in most cases). They made that money saving lives and raising the average life expectancy to higher than it has ever been in history. They are the real revolutionaries.
@atomgonuclear11 жыл бұрын
***** I guess I hit a nerve. Nothing like wannabe gangsta white boys gettin hit with some truth. Just like I said...... there isn't a fake rapper who doesn't talk about shootin people up..... you just demonstrated that with your stupid ass/shotgun UZI comment. LOL. Good luck using your parent's money to buy yourself an UZI in a white suburb of Seattle. lololol. Dude get a job and fall the fuck in line, because what your doing now isn't working and your not fooling anybody. Lastly, why are you measuring your success by how much pussy you get? I don't care how much pussy you get. That's a bad thing. It means people can't stand more than 1 night with you so you have to find new shit. There's another hypocritical thing you said...... you said the internet is evil for porn, yet you go out fucking random bitches that have daddys that would never approve. Maybe your evil too then?
@atomgonuclear11 жыл бұрын
I don't know you and these are all guesses, but I'm a pretty good guesser. What I do know is that if your unsatisfied with a large broken system then you have to change it from the inside. Your mistake is complaining about how evil the world, government, and corporations are. Nobody takes people on the outside of the box seriously. If you want real change you have to be on the inside... or at least act like it. If you have to act like a conformist to get shit done, then it's worth it. You have to be a successful and trustworthy person before people will listen to you. Everybody in the US wants government change, but the people who openly talk about it don't stand a chance. Look at the history of marijuana. When it was illegal hippies tried for decades to legalize it through weird behavior and outside the box thinking. It took successful people in powerful positions on the inside to change that. They acted like conformist politicians; all the while they were smoking it up in secret. Complaining gets you nowhere.
@atomgonuclear11 жыл бұрын
I'm not getting off topic. What I'm saying is that you don't get to dictate the terms of things your not involved in. You haven't worked in 5 years. why should you get to dictate the terms of taxes and the societal interactions with corporations; when it doesn't affect you. Your not homeless, you have a car, and you have a computer to talk on. There is only 2 possibilities. That is that you have been glady accepting money from other people ie. parents or the government. Now you want special privileges to dictate terms that fit your needs based on your un-qualified opinion. People outside the scope of what concerns them don't get to have an opinion that carries the same weight. You had the same opportunity to change things as anybody else. If not more; due to your prime economic location. Telling the world corporations are evil just because they don't fit your lifestyle practice is selfish and hypocritical. Especially when you use those things you call evil and condemn other people for doing the same (the internet, the youtube corporation, etc.) Just like Kanye. He wouldn't even exist without the very thing he condemns. Just as you wouldn't. I am done now.

A lot of the time, looking at interviews of Kanye, he comes across as someone who has a very unique and high level of thinking that often times can't fully articulate his ideas to the people he's talking to, or maybe they just don't get it, which must grow insanely frustrating that in the moment he explodes onto the other person. Also, say what you want but it's true. Kanye West has brought over 10 years of incredibly forward thinking, or progressive, art, culture, design and product. Not to hate on Charlemagne, but he's main claim to fame is being a radio show host. Not the best radio show host on the greatest radio show. Kanye is relevant for continuing to make dope shit without fail. Charlemagne can only stay relevant for doing shit like this, talking about other people who do shit. He knows that if he criticizes them he's going to get more views and interviews. Kanye West creates. Charlemagne talks about the people like Kanye West. They are on clearly different levels. Artistically and career-wise.
@semperxian10 жыл бұрын
it's part of his job. you can critique how he does it or his logic maybe but it doesnt follow that he shouldnt do it because he doesnt create. surely we cant say sway had no right to confront him... and kanye does COME ACROSS as something, but whether there's any substance in it is another matter. is he anti capitalism? no certainly not, and yet he sometimes talks as if he is. i think charlemagne is right to bring up the NOT FOR SALE sign. very bizarre. the elitist portion of the fashion world is an extremely capitalist industry that appeals to the very wealthy and he wants to be a part of that and make it appealing to his fans, most of whom cannot afford to buy a $120 t shirt. all of this added to his arrogance and cocky attitude which is expected at times but taken to another level by him by saying things like I am Shakespeare

Just because people tweet it, doesn't mean they are 'following' kanye in any way, they are stating a simple message that has been repeated for years; don't follow, do your own thing. You think just cause someone tweets their lyrics it means they want to follow in their footsteps and view him as the leader? Fuck no, charlmagne is just enforcing a generalisation about all those people who tweet it, it sounds true because charl says it as if there is no other possible interpretation for why people tweet it. Read between the lines, Charl's a straight hating bitch
@Michael-xv1gn11 жыл бұрын
It may be a generalization but it is true for a great number of people. There are driving forces behind why we do the simplest things, like retweeting a common phrase. This speaks to life, not just twitter.

Vlad's comment at about the3:53 was right I just saw the BBC interview with Kanye and the majority of the interview was him going off about the fashion world denying him a chance. He even talked about "Black Skinhead" and "I Am A God" being made out of his frustrations with the fashion world, and it's more to it than just Kanye being told no, but that's what lit the fuse for alot of the songs on Yeezus

I like how he mentions Prince."The Artist" never did have a big marketing scheme or nothing like that, and when he saw that WB was jerking him around he took matters into his own hands, without really raving and ranting about it. He changed his name, wrote "slave" on his face, and kept it moving when his contract was up.
