In spite of your hard work to create your new splash/starting intro, I got to tell you I prefer the previous intro you had. It might be subtler than the new but it had some charm, grace, & the promise of great things to view & learn. It was so iconic just like MGM Pictures roaring lion or Paramount Pictures majestic Matterhorn. No one needs a 21st Century “FOX” intro 😉

Ah that’s the price of progress I guess. Change is inevitable and it was time to kick it up a notch.

Thanks for the great videos and content. The unite should be slabbed with the pedigree imo, and has a great story, great coin! Auction descriptions I continue to agree should be accompanied by slabbing. The language can be very misleading imo and the slabs provide expert third party assurance on coin damage. I try to avoid coins that are not slabbed and it doesn't mean you cannot deslab after winning an auction. Thanks for the content!

A silver coin can form a tone on one side only if sat in a box or cabinet for years without turning it over

Great video again, I have a few older British coins that may be worth grading if only to preserve them, will take a look and see what I consider worth sending and try and get them to you this weekend. I also have an Indian head Cent which I might also send along with them. Keep up the the good work and informative videos.

Artificial toning was a technique used to create a coin that would sell for more, as toned Morgan dollars are very much desired. On the Morgan dollar in the video I would say that the toning on the back is quite dark, and contrasts starkly from the obverse which has no toning at all. The very dark toning and the fact that there is no or minimal toning on the obverse would be warning signs.
@Numistacker4 жыл бұрын
The contrast does not necessarily mean artificial though ?
@GoldenSlumber4744 жыл бұрын
Numistacker Agreed. There are thousands of Morgans that have contrasting colours on both sides that were naturally toned. I gave up collecting raw Morgans because counterfeit or altered versions have become a major cottage industry where you can be burned. Unless it’s slabbed, I don’t buy
@j.rastusrat46474 жыл бұрын
I like the new intro. I'm guessing that you used 5 silvers and a copper for the change sounds. I'm not an expert but to my eye the Morgan's toning is too heavy and consistent. 70/30 that I would have passed on it. Especially with 20/20!!

NGC has the strictest standards right now for US coins and apparently from the look of some of these they are letting lots of older British coins through with a grade even though have been cleaned in the past. I think they're trying to build their British coin market seeing that these coins are the future for them. So they are far less stringent in their standards for British coins at present hoping not to turn anyone off.

Numistacker true but isn’t that why we love coins it keeps us connected to the past and to history. The reliability of them and there steadfast sameness. Do we have to change for the sake of change? Or is the old adage better? “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” Maybe I am just old

Does slabbing a Silver coin stop it Toning / tarnishing? Does Toning decrease the value? I have silver jewellery and its always going black. Pain in the ass lol

No grading and slabing coin do not prevent milk spots/toning appears later on

There is a direct correlation between the number of people grading their coins and the number of people being ripped off on eBay buying cleaned coins.
