Mega video of the fishing business back in the day. Awesome and cheers for sharing this with us. A comradeship among drivers no matter who they drove for.

In the early 1960’s I used to go with my Dad from Buckie to Hull or Grimsby with fish. He drove for Taylor’s Transport of Buckie. Exactly as I remember it 🚚🚚

When I was young, my Dad ran fish. Drove for Croan, Carney and Gibb, Payton, David Dow, Charles Alexander, and Saddlers. Drove from when he was 16 till he was 48. Then we came to Canada. I’ve been driving here since 76. Oh, I forgot BRS.

Thank you so much . I was the trade union rep for the garage guys when the company folded . If it wasn't for mis management the company would have still been going . Management at the time said the only future was to haul fish and paper . The oil industry was short term and wouldn't last !!!

As a Forfar lad who then lived in Perth (only in my 30s so this is all long before me), it's fascinating to see the old Angus and Strathmore roads before the motorways came. Any idea what year this was made?

You have to make this video on a higher clarity, @240p, it's not clear enough for me. I'm not being arrogant, just saying I can't see it or read it. Maybe if enough people complain you might believe me. Thank you

My dad drove for Croan’s, and Alexander’s out of Leith, and Granton. I’d spend part of my summers with him on the fish run. I live in Canada now. Been driving HGV since 76.

Nice old video but I doubt a Rotary pump is any more efficient than an in-line pump

donald j leslie thank you but what you’re saying is that the in-line pump would give a little more power but at the expense of some economy and vice versa with a rotary pump?
