Saw Charles in 2018-ish midwinter in a small cafe in Brattleboro, VT while it was snowing outside. There were probably only 4 or 5 of us there, but my friend and I were absolutely blown away by what he was doing and knew he deserved a bigger audience. We talked with him a bit afterwards and he was a super nice guy. I am so happy to see him on Rick's channel and with the following he deserves.

I have been following Charles for a long time and consider him one of the best bass players of our time. The technique is fantastic. But in this video I also saw that he is also a great musician. In pieces with a guitar where there was no need to play, he did not play and did not make an "ego shooter" out of the music, but played only what was needed. This is just top! Perfect.

How far you've come Charles. Still remember when it all kicked off with Davie. Well deserved ❤

What I love about Charles' style is not just is amazing prowess but as Rick says, his musicality. It's not just flash for flash sake, it's friggin GREAT music!

Wow! This guy is just amazing! So glad you highlight these lesser-known artists! They really deserve to be known.

Such a great player. He's a real pioneer. I don't know if there's another bassist today who is as well-round as Charles (e.g., fingerstyle, slap, tapping, and even pick playing.)

Virtuoso rock is becoming a big thing. And Charles is leading the way on the bass side.

Not only is Charles the most amazing bassist on KZbin -- and one of the most talented in the world as far as I can tell -- he seems like a genuinely nice and generous guy. There's just no drama, attitude, or ego with this dude.

It's great when you get a musician on who is just willing to tear through some material right on camera. That speaks to their professionalism.

Charles is THE man of bass. Such a musical and technical inspiration... and never out of the pocket!

Got to see him play live, and I was honestly surprised that he’s just as amazing as in his videos - no mistakes, just 100% accuracy and incredible skill! Plus, he's a really humble guy. Charles is awesome!

Charles is one of those where his technical ability is up there with his musical ability. Great choice to interview him as he should be not only an inspiration to pro players like myself but beginners as well who were clueless to how far you can take the bass.

Charles is astounding - his skills are absolutely in the uppermost echelon. On top of that, his videos are entertaining, clever and incredibly imaginative. I really believe that in time his name will come up on every list of greatest bass players of all time.

Man... hearing Charles playing lead on bass... takes me back 50 years... he reminds me of Tim Bobert... when Tim first blew me away... with his bass solo's... he got my attention then... as Charles... gets my attention.. now... Well done sir....
