True story. I just discovered this jewel. I texted my son and said to him; we are going to go and see him!! He asked me; is he still alive?? I googled it and found out that he had passed in 2017. What a sad disappointment.

Brotha, I just discovered this as well. tonight. Feel you.

VERY sad indeed. I discovered his music a couple of years ago. To learn that he had passed was a true disappointment….. same goes for for Sharon Jones of Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. Both WERE PHENOMENAL talents that didn’t got exposure until late in life.

He essentially didn't get his flowers until very late in his life 2011 I believe so most people didn't get to enjoy his presence before he passed.

😢Nooo....and I just knew from your comment. It was on my wishlist when visiting the U.S. may he rest in peace ... We'll keep him alive by listening to these jewels!

Damn he died? What a genuine loss to music. I'm glad he got to taste fame before it ended, that guy worked hard to get where he got and you could feel it in his music man. So much gahdamn soul and raw emotion. Fuck.

but at the same time it is heart warming to know that he spent the last years of his life knowing he had been sucessful doing what he wanted to do. A better fate that growing very old and losing the ability to do what you used to love doing. What a legend.

Charles Bradley is one of the greatest artists of all time--a late bloomer (Born in 1948) Charles grew up in poverty and was a journeyman moving often and working a number of different jobs in different cities-- he moved back to Brooklyn New York where his mom lived in 1996. Daptone records found Charles and recorded and released his 1st and tremendously successful album "No Time For Dreaming" in 2011--Charles was then age 63 years old!! I was lucky enough to see Charles Bradley perform live at Festival Internationale De Lafayette in Lafayette Louisiana, and at the New Orleans jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans. His music reflects his life long journey! RIP Charles Bradley

While listening to him today I was as usual loving it ! Rest In Peace and thanks for your talent and music Charles.

Blessed be the soul of Charles Bradley. He was beaten down most of his life and eventually found his point of content and a short order of redemption (it seems).
