Hank is one of the family, you can rely on. Sad, that he was timewise addicted to alcohol. This drug ruined the life of so many, certainly you know R&B singer Amy Winehouse, perhaps also german actor Harald Juncke, her player himself in the movie "Der Trinker".

A man who you learn a lot from. Don't try means let it just happen. We are born into it. Trying is kind of faking it. But we all can't live like Bukowski, as I get older Bukowski makes sense. Even as a person who has given up alcohol. He was a shy man who had a wild streak and a distaste for humanity. There are many men like him but they don't they become writers like him. From the edge of hell or from the edge of Hollywood

CHARLES BUKOWSKI'S SPIRIT SPEAKING In the gritty details, where souls collide, Beauty's an extraordinary beast to ride. Couldn't beat that truth, so I fought on, Wrestling with thoughts, tears streaming strong. I ground those tears, every damn notion, In the arena of my relentless devotion. Sought meaning, dug deep in my mind's dirt, Struggled through the trenches, not one to skirt. Yeah, it's the soul's nitty-gritty, the raw affair, That makes beauty shine, I swear and declare. In every scar, every gritty fragment I found, A damn extraordinary tale would resound. That universal truth, it had me pinned, But I brawled and bled, wouldn't let it win. Tears and thoughts, a cacophony in my head, Bukowski-style, I fought till they bled. So take those tears, let 'em soak the page, Unleash 'em, ignite the poet's raging rage. Embrace the details, don't shy from the brawl, For it's in the fight, we find beauty's call. Yeah, let this poem bear the Bukowski mark, With grit and truth, a poetic spark. In the trenches, amid the tears that flow, Discover extraordinary beauty, don't let it go. :: 06.02.2023 ::

Damn Hank on role tonight on this one. He kept the fire's burning and they never be extinguished. He didn't let the bastards kill him the way I did. Love that old Pollock there, nothing like some old sad bastard poetry like to here him roar. Years ago you could use words to fight but not today.

Oh yes, and boy do I have a couple stories to tell about him! Lol. I’ll have to write it up and post some day... I used to have little chats with him in the 80’s when I was a 21 year-old computer technician at an Apple dealer in Torrance, just below San Pedro where he lived. He used to bring in his Mac to get fixed about every two weeks. He was really nice to me. I remember him telling me he didn’t drink anymore because he had cancer and the dr told him if he even has one drink he could die, so he stopped. I had total access to all his work on the hard drive and saved it from being totally destroyed several times. I actually had access to all of his writings at the time and used to take a peek, but I never messed with them. I did have something happen that is a classic Bukowski story that I’ll have to write in a longer post some time if anyone is interested in hearing...

Who cares if it wasn't published, it's probably not met to be seen. You just invaded a man's privacy, why would you want to introduce something in a world that wasn't there to begin with. Take your shame to the grave.
@TheDimachaerus3 жыл бұрын
He died in 1994. I don't know if you're telling the truth, but it seems odd one drink could cause a cancer patient to die. He died of Leukemia. I'm not a DR., but your comment doesn't seem right.
