Hey everybody, welcome back to another episode of Moworks!
Today we discuss in detail the CD 101, my newest firearm and a very fun, utilitarian, shotgun. I have seen next to no content for this shotgun on KZbin and hope this sheds some light on this budget friendly firearm. I will add that this shotgun can take different chokes and comes with a choke key. This is despite some rumors online stating the chokes are unchangeable for this model.
Enjoy!

Thank you for making this video! I wasn't sure about the quality of the shotgun when looking at it online but this demonstration really showcased it is high.

I remember desperately looking for information on this shotgun when deciding whether to buy it or not, one of the big reasons I made this video and why the video is doing so well. Thank you for commenting and taking an interest in my content 😁

I have a 28" .410 and a 14" 12 gauge (available in Canada, not sure about the US) it kicks like a mule, i should probably get a shoulder pad, lol They're great guns for the price, very sturdy, my only issue is that they misfire a lot until broken in, first thing i did was take them apart, get rid of all the factory oil and soak the thing in clp and just work the hammer and trigger dry firing it a good hundred times or so
@Moworks-3006
@Moworks-3006 2 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing! I would've figured that the dry firing would break the firing pin based on what I've read online. I guess we now know from experience! I've had one concerning misfire but not another since I've kept it clean. Federal US law states no shotgun barrel under 18", which is unfortunate and very arbitrary if you know the history! Enjoy your 14 inches!

@@Moworks-3006 haha, I've had no problems with dry firing here and there, although that many times in a row i definitely had a snap cap with a rubber primer

4:50 That rattling is a sliding piece that actuates the ejector/extractor. It held against a leaf spring in the foregrip. It looks like a squared U and will just slide out if you take the gun apart. You could disassemble it and put a little silicone grease to keep it from rattling. There's a huge void in the buttstock, I filled a few bags with birdshot and added a few pounds before filling the rest with part of a damaged shirt. Helps the young ones handle slugs a little easier 😅

I highly appreciate you making this video. I have purchased one of these shotguns myself and I was concerned about using it with buckshot and slugs due to its price point and the fact that it’s a “turkey gun”. It’s been hard to find a good detailed video about this so thank you for this.

You know there are adapter kits made for single shot shotguns for firing many others calibers.. 9mm , 22 lr , 45 and more. One company is called Short Track but there are others. Makes a single barrel 12 gauge very versatile.

I see a lot of deals for those on eBay. However, all the 22 long rifle adapters seem to have been taken off the market. I think eBay may have updated their terms of service.

I was scared to get one because it was so low cost but if it works fine might be a good gun to actually use and keep on the truck. The folding down style single shot has alot of appeal.
@Moworks-3006
@Moworks-3006 5 ай бұрын
I would say that with all budget firearms there is a chance of getting a lemon. However, the amount of things to go wrong with a single shot shotgun vs, say, a semi auto pistol are much less. The truck gun appeal is very high I agree!

I've unfortunately got a dud twice. I had light primer strikes on both guns I got after no more than 75 shells in each. sent the first one in to Charles Daly and they sent me a brand new one with the same issues. wish this wasn't the case.

Hi Kyle, sorry to hear that :(. I had one concerning light primer strike around the 30-50 round mark but it alleviated completely after I cleaned the firing pin area. I buy a lot of budget guns, I'm sure to get bit one of these days, just not today!

I have the wood stocked version and my only real complaint is the horrible trigger. It has the hardest pull I have ever experienced in my 60+ years of shooting. I would like to find a video on taking the action apart and reassembly so I could do a little polishing and maybe some spring replacement.
@Moworks-3006
@Moworks-3006 4 ай бұрын
Hey there, I to notice how heavy that triggers is! It's saving grace is that it is very crisp. It may be hard to find a video on the disassembly due to this being one of the more recent Turkish shotguns, which are not routinely maintenance, and usually shot until broken and then replaced (from what I hear).

Can you fire buckshot and slugs straight from the factory or do you need a new cylinder choke?
@Moworks-3006
@Moworks-3006 2 ай бұрын
I fired mine straight from factory (cylinder bore/ no choke). I know some slugs can be fired from some chokes but Cylinder Bore is usually best for those. Buckshot you can get away with a little tighter choke.

I got mine in they other day cleaned it really good started to load the shells and they got stuck at the beginning some would go through and some would catch I've never had a problem with the load ports or carrier port any suggestions on what I can do to fix it...
@Moworks-3006

This is probably terrible advice but I always make sure to put some higher power (in this case, slugs/ 00 buckshot) rounds through new firearms because, even with non-semi auto firearms, I find they all need a break in period. Otherwise, I would encourage you to check for burrs, inconsistencies, perhaps sharp edges or residual finishing product in the chamber. After that, try ammo inspection or using a different brand. Despite being a good manufacturer ALL Fiocchi ammo runs horribly in my Taurus, so trying a different brand might help.
