Appreciated the incentives to paint outdoors for best color and atmosphere.

Yes, the Met has some great Daubignys. I saw a lot at the Art Institute of Chicago when I was younger

You really have a teachers heart. I appreciate how giving you are to those who want to learn how to paint but have limitations to get better educated. I learn a lot from you. Thank you for the videos. I think you using a program that allows you to mark on the image helps, too. - I would like to learn more about symbolism in art history if you ever desire to teach on that topic.

I believe that I own one of his paintings. His name is on the bottom right: Daubigny. It's a landscape of trees alongside of a river bed. There are mountains in the distant background with a large cloudy sky. It's a rather large painting and its frame has a large amount of patina. The back of the canvas looks very old. I wonder if it's really one of his paintings.

I wonder how he made such an incredible transformation from his beginning work to impressionism!

Technically it would sound a bit more like 'Sharl', but that's just me being pedantic. :) Great video! I have an original oil painting by Louis-Alexandre Dubourg, who I think might have been friends with Charles Daubigny, or at the very least had a mutual friend in Eugène Boudin.

Phil doesn't like ducks. Cows are OK but ducks are bad.
