PS.. My best pall in Whitehaven , Cumbria, hit a really bad patch with health 9 months ago... I gave Gail a call , she arranged to ship your Tips book, full set of Aquafine paint , brushes and paper to him on my behalf .. He has thankfully survived arduous treatment by passing his recovery time with the help of your demo's and gear.... having never tried painting before !!! Big thanks on behalf of him and me.. Well done boss (Gail!)

Hi Charles,Peter from Noosa Australia. Simple but challenging, hope all are well. While we enjoy your instruction because of the lockdowns,we hope that all our British cousins come out of this awful experience. Hope this year I may be able to visit England and might even be able to meet you and Gail. Stay well and please keep painting.

Ooh, this is just the lesson I need right now! I’ve just been down to my local beach, here on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria Australia, taking photos of the black swans who spend their days there. Your painting (and your book that I recently bought) will help me to render their beach habitat for them to paddle about in! Thanks Charlie!

Charles you should put a short cut in the bit below to your website. My first ever watercolour was similar to this on dreadful cheap paper. I did it 4 times one after the other. Number 4 was on different paper. Cheap stuff used for drawing. We live and learn. Thanks for all the paintings.

Greetings from the land of the Suffolk Punch, Silly Suffolk, or Carrot Crunching Country - which ever you prefer (if you can't take the "P" out of yourself it's a sorry state of affairs) you obviously know the beauty of our county from the Nayland watercolour demo. Thoroughly enjoying all your youtube uploads, your style is simple, effective, and expressive and your teaching exceptionally clear and precise. I found your channel purely by chance, I obtained a copy of "Charlies's top Tips" a few years back when I was thinking of getting back into art, other than photography, and I was searching youtube for tutorials when I caught sight of the book. Hench my first question; Is there a lot more in the "Pocket Book" when compared with "Top Tips"? Next, are you able to give a demo using pans rather than tubed watercolour? Keep up the good work.
@charlesevans77064 жыл бұрын
So pleased you’re enjoying them. And yes, you’re right I love Suffolk. No there not much difference between the 2 books, just a publishers re brand! As for pans, no I’m afraid I just don’t use them.

Thank you. Inspiring, once again. Don't your Aquafine brush handles start losing their beautiful coating, depositing flakes of paint on the project at critical moments, causing unwanted blips? And no, it's not easy to remove all that coating beforehand. And no, my brushes do not spend their life permanently in a bath of water.
