CHARLES LAUGHTON is a weirdo in "Blind Date" • Creepy SUSPENSE Episode w/JUNE HAVOC [remastered]

Here's a memorable story featuring Charles Laughton at his very best! You'll get to hear a great performance by June Havoc, too. She plays an artist (she pronounces it "arteest") who is a contortionist that brings her talents to the stage. Laughton is a member of the audience who's been to every one of her shows. He pays an usher to take a note to Havoc, asking her out on a blind date. He comes to her dressing room to meet her, but before they go out he demands a "private performance" from her, showing off her skills as a contortionist. While she's bending over backwards on a chair, you can hear Laughton breathing and giggling with delight! This is only the beginning, as the story takes one terrifying turn after another - leading up to a shocking conclusion to one of the creepiest episodes, ever! The sound quality is now excellent.

Because of it's popularity, this story was done more than once by Suspense, but this would be the only version with Laughton. It's certainly the best, by far! This upload replaces my earlier upload (in fact, this was one of the very first episodes I uploaded in 2017) We have much better sound quality this time around.

I think you can find it on KZbin - but be prepared to be disappointed. The TV version was very low budget. It aired starting in 1949.
