5:02 - 5:34 Combination of that crazy 32' Contre Bombarde with 16th notes runs up and down and high pitched melody with poweful mixtures on top of that .. what can I say, best goosebumps maker on the market. Love it. Works everytime

Simply AMAZING!!! A monumental ending to a monumental masterwork!!! The organ of St Ouen is one of the very greatest and Van Oosten is one of the finest interpreters of Widor!!

St.Ouen..absolutely..one of the finest organ build by Cavaille-Coll.

My three favorites right now by him are, in no particular order, St. Ouen, St. Sulpice, and Nancy Cathedral.

Never heard this work before. I like it. Reminded me of the Gigout toccata. Then again, hearing something for the first time has a tendency to remind one of other things one has heard before. Thank you for sharing.

When heard in context to the rest of the symphony, and with the 7th before, it is like a massive suite of grandeur.

The perfect tempo for this piece. Olivier Latry will play this probably 2 times faster, and it still would be great :D But, to be honest, chamades in Notre Dame is designed for playing fast.

At what location was this recorded?

The church of St. Sulpice in Paris, France. Majority of Ben Van Oosten's C.M Widor performances are held in there.
