I don't think you understand, Oliveira could care less if the fight hits the ground, in fact he is more comfortable there, whenever he gets hit with a heavy strike he immediatly falls into full gaurd because he is so confident with his jiu jitsu and no one wants to approach him on the ground. Also I never said that Khabib would not take him down he probably would, but what can he do on the ground when Oliveira is attempting a submission at any opportunity; Oliveira has the most submissions in Ufc history, trying to get on the ground with him would be stupid for Khabib. Also Khabibs striking is not underated it is quite horrible, you don't have to be even a casual to know that, the only reason he could stay standing with some strikers would be because people like mcgregor and poirer were too hesitant in fear of the takedown and would back away from khabib, however Charles Oliveria would have zero fear of a takedown because he does not care if the fight hits the ground, therefore he would be able to strike normally under no pressure, which would mean certain doom for khabib. I really like Charles but you also have to compare the fights where Charles gets dropped against guys like Dustin and Justin Khabib ran through them. Also Charles wasn't able to do allot against Chandler when he had his back and also when Chandler did the ground and pound. Khabib is easily 1 of the best ground and pounder of the whole roster of not the best. The leven of wrestling and grappling of Islam and Khabib are also top notch.
