Alkan in my firm opinion, have always written music in a style far beyond his time and era.

Welcome to the Alkan club! He wrote a lot of music which is only now getting recorded. What a time to be alive! I first heard about him 40 years ago and only in the past 10 years have I been able to find the scores. There are many wonderful recordings of his music now on KZbin so be sure to do some digging. You will not be disappointed!

The final chords from the sextuplet onwards are very striking in this interpretation. They're heavy and have a lot of character.
