A lifetime friend told me he had 7 months to live as he attended my moms funeral...He exuded grace in this disclosure...no sadness...just a smile...told me how thankful and fortunate he was...how he married the girl of his dreams...raised children...accomplised so many dreams...had fast cars...traveled...felt fullfilled...and accepted the Lords will...although I will miss him dearly...I pray when my time comes I will face this with the same calm and grace he showed me....much love to you Tommy....R.I.P.

The beautiful song shows how much love, faith and family can get you through everything. Very typical of Charles Wesley Godwin songs with lyrics from the heart and a voice that speaks from his soul. As a God fearing man, I don’t want to say I idolize him, so what ever is one step below idolization is how I feel about CWG. I’ve been listening since ‘21 and I’ve lost count as to how many times I’ve seen him live. I met him last September and he was the most humble, most selfless person I’ve ever met. His crew was rushing him off after a show but he didn’t hesitate to stop and chat with me and my girlfriend for a few minutes. I’m so happy I found him when I did and I’m excited to see him go all the way to the top. He and his family deserve nothing but the best.

The first time my dad told me he was proud of me and that he loved me was two weeks ago. I'm 28. I think I knew he loved me, he showed it in his own ways. But wow that meant so much to me. He had two forms of aggressive cancer and none of the treatments took. I laid next to him at my sisters house just this last Wednesday watching the Olympics. I wanted to tell him how much I loved him, how proud of him I was, and how he shaped me into who I am as a man. But his doctor said he had two months left, and it felt awkward to say these emotional things to him. I decided to tell him later. Just two days later on Friday my sister called me at work, he had declined and was now unresponsive. He passed on Saturday at 11:48am. That whole night he writhed and gargled in pain as we cried and told him it was okay to go. It was horrible watching him go. I hope he heard the words I said to him that night, but I'll never know. He couldn't or didn't acknowledge what any of us said before he passed. Please tell your dad you love him. Yes, he knows you love him. I knew my dad loved me too. But hearing him say it meant the world to me. I love you dad. Sleep tight, I'll see you later. Aloha Ke Akua. May I honor your name.

Thank you, Charles for this amazing song and video. Tugs at my heart strings and makes my eyes well up. Reminds me that tomorrow is never promised and it is FAMILY that’s always first. As a father and a husband I am often swept into the swift and powerful current of overtime, finances, busy schedules, endless laundry, messy rooms, and rushed meals. Its easy for me to forget how lucky I am that my wife and kids love and tolerate an overworked, tired, sore, grumpy, and nearly broken man like me. For that I am grateful and truly blessed. They are more than I deserve. Thank you, Charles. I needed this reminder.

His wife and his 7 kids were so heartbroken, and my dad, his younger brother, cried more times leading up to and after my uncle's death then I ever thought I'd see. He was the kindest person in my dad's family, and I miss him so much.
