I live in the area and never heard about this. I am a 100% Bigfoot believer, but with that being said I don't think one would ever live around here. It's too highly populated. And as you mentioned there is no "forest" in the area large enough to support one either. And it's flat as can be with no hills. He didn't travel from the refuges down south without being seen.
