Yay! Thanks Charles. Last likevi saw you I was still trying to get the right water content in my brush. Now I know who to credit with me squeezing water out of my brush, my soggy jeans and messy pallet. Plus other good painting techniques as well of course.🤣🤣🤣. Looking forward to your next video I see is coming. 👍💙

Very, very good teaching about color mixing and using the brush rather than a tissue or kitchen towel (paper towel) for clouds. I’m going to give this a try. I’m really interested in how one buys the unique sand color you’ve made or how we mix it. Also, I’ve been waiting for someone to be smart enough to provide watercolor paper sheets within their “how-to” books. Congratulations on being smart and thank you for teaching us.

On your advice I use my Daler Rowney brush ( 3/4 ), others like my 6 & 8 are very old ( 25+ yrs old ) but good. And, after hearing your „black“ mix I‘ve tried it out, great. Tomorrow I‘ll try out the mixes you‘ve mentioned here hoping for the same results. Your suggestions aren’t good for businesses hi,hi, but for us learners are great to learn from your years of experience! Thanks for sharing, and teaching.

Mr. Evans, love to watch you paint. You inspire me! But I have to point out that I have to strain to hear you even though I have perfect hearing. Sometimes your sound is clear and other times you whisper or mumble. Your verbal instruction and commentary add so much value to your teaching. If you could raise the volume (we can always lower) it would be greatly appreciated. We greatly admire your talent. Please be kind enough to raise the volume. Thank you for your teaching.

Love your videos.. but I'm curious.. You used to say that W& N was the only way to go.. Cotman brushes and W&N Artist Paints.. On this video you make a left turn and say that Aquafine Paints (Which I began with because they were the only thing the local Walmart carries) are your go to paint. I also noticed that your shirts are coded to the gear you are using. Is it a sponsor thing? Or do you believe that Aquafine is as good as W&N Artist paints? Doesn't bother me either way.. honestly I'm a Lukas man now.. but I was curious Thanks again for some more videos.. Have missed you and hope you keep putting new stuff up!

Have admired and been inspired over the last 10 years and more by your fabulous landscapes. I took up painting about 15 years ago after 34 years of not touching a brush since leaving school. How I wish I hadn't left it so long. However I've sold many paintings and exhibited locally. I've noticed, that you no longer use or recommend Windsor and Newton art materials. You always said Charles that they were the best in "your humble opinion". Is there a particular reason for this? I look forward to your comments and will continue to be inspired by your wonderful KZbin demos. Eric Mazurek.
@charlesevans7706

Eric Mazurek simple really, I think Winsor’s took their eye of the ball a bit. And Daler-Rowney reformulated their paints.

@@charlesevans7706 Thanks for that Charles. Either way, I'll still be inspired by whichever brand you use. I do have several pieces of D R equipment ie paper, Aquafine brushes and paints. If you use them, there's no reason for me to do otherwise. Loved the paintings in your garden. Just shows you don't have to have a wonderful landscape in fro t of you to produce an interesting painting. Regarding technics, I haven't pre stretched watercolor paper for at least 10 years. In my art group, occasionally a local artist, being a friend of a colleague comes to the group with a few tips etc. He couldn't believe until I proved it that there was no need to stretch the 140 lb paper. Please Contin with your videos. I wish you continued success. Take care and be safe.

Mr. Evens, love your watercolor tutorials but can hardly hear you. You need to speak louder. Straining to hear distracts my concentration of your great teaching.

Really like following your demonstrations - do you ever use water based oils? There are none I have found on KZbin and you are so good at talking through your work.

Maybe we could look forward to how to use water based oils - I’m 72, enjoying learning to paint but have never used them,, I was given a ‘starter’ pack and don’t know how to get going.

It depends how long they’ve been in there. If they’re dry, a wet brush brings them out again.

Hi Charles. The 3/4 flat you use on this demo is different to the one you sell on your site. The one on your site looks more like the longer haired 3/4" One Stroke. Which one would we get if we bought from your site please? I'm fed up with flats splitting when being used and am looking for a decent one. Thanks.

The one I’m using there is the same as we sell on my website. A 3/4” daler-Rowney Aquafine. They’re the ones I’ve used for the last 3 years!

I beg to differ@@charlesevans7706 You are using a short haired (2cm hair length) 3/4 flat in the demo, but your site shows a long haired (4cm hair length) One Stroke flat. Check it out. Which one do we get?
