I was there that night. My father was Bobby Fletcher’s engine builder. I think Sammy Swindell turned the 1st sub-18 second lap that night with a 17.94 new track record.

I think this track is like watching a train go by. Little banking and seldom 2 grooves. Hard to pass here.
