"Wolfie" put on a driving clinic for the ages at the 1990 Knoxville Nationals. Carving his way through the "alphabet soup" , Not only came from the D Main, but finished fifth in the A Main....A feat at the Knoxville Nationals that might never be duplicated.

Never, there is no one capable of pulling of such a feat, the reality is, that only three men were capable of pulling of such a feat and this is the only time that one was put in such a position. This is the result.

I’ve never heard a crowd react to a driver taking the lead in the B-Main of a sprint car or midget race like the way they reacted when Wolfie went from the 21st starting position to the lead in 14 laps… Taking the lead as they were taking the white flag… Unbelievable.
