Hiya Charley! That exhaust system is sweet. Just this week I got my 98 VFR800fi back on the road after 5 years parked up, brought it for a spin up over the Dublin mountains to Lynhams in Laragh. It's great to be back on the road. Rubber side down.

The short exhaust really suits the knobbly tyres as you get a far better look of the rear. And that sound is amazing.

I didn't know you had a channel, Charley. Just cropped up in my recommended stuff. The T120 is a great bike. My favourite Triumph. Yours is nicely modded. I liked the exhausts as they were before you went to Tom's.

Charley, I just installed the British Customs competition headers with their sleeper pro exhausts on my T120. Man, they sound fantastic and are heating up to a very nice golden brown. I have to say those Hitchcock pipes definitely improved the character of your bike. Looking good sir! Great video.

I have a 2017 T120 that is still my every day rider. I’ve left everything stock from the day it was brand new but it is amazing to see how beautiful the modern T120 is when completely customized! Charley, it would be amazing if you did a similar custom job on a new Speed Twin. That would be looks and performance that couldn’t be matched. Cheers from New York

Hi there Charlie great to see you out on the road. I’ve always liked following you and Ewan on your great adventures. I’ve also got a few bikes in the garage and a lot of bikes through my ears. I also have a T120, I frequently ride the triumph Bonneville I also ride one of the new Royal Enfield Hunter 350s. It might not be as part of the tramp but it is a great little bike with a pokey little engine. Look forward to seeing more of your adventures. Take it easy safe regards Graham.

Those would work so well as a longer high level exhaust and the megaphones Tom have there look very interesting too. Definitely ditch the shoebox.. Looks like Tom also manufactures in stainless and mild steel as well as titanium, which makes sense.

Do you get tired of the volume?
@KimmoJaskari Жыл бұрын
I'm a bit torn, I do like a nice sound but I abhor the antisocial levels of volume aftermarket pipes often reach. I'm also not necessarily a huge fan of form over function, and there's really little doubt that the exhaust gases will swirl behind the bike and back up toward the rider causing their clothes to soak up that exhaust smell when the pipes are that short. Craftsmanship looks to be exquisite, but not sure I'd enjoy these. Also, worth noting - if you dramatically increase your exhaust flow, you *must* put the bike on a dyno and dial in the ECU map for the exhaust. If you exhaust more air, you get more air in, which can make the engine run unacceptably lean and even burn the pistons and rings. Any changes to exhaust and intake means remapping if you want longevity.

Hi Chris, interesting video and I can see your dilemma. Years ago I used to build choppers back when most of your parts you had to make yourself. I used to use high rise pullbacks or z bars. Both of these bars looked good with long forks in my opinion. Of course my bars were not rubber mounted and felt stable. I did have a pair of high apehangers but no matter how tight you had the handlebar clamps the bars could be moved backwards and forwards if you braked or accelerated too much so I stopped using them. Obviously that's why Triumph have fitted the location pin in the risers to stop this happening. This does of course severely limit your position for the bars to just one. I hope you get your bike adjusted to your requirements soon.

The black widow stainless exhaust downtubes are really good and in 2015 i paid £200 for mine and ive been very impressed with the quality, fit and finish. Its for a 1999 honda vfr800. The others were more expensive and not better like the motad ones.

Tom is a man of few words... one must be well suited in one's on esteem when communicating. Charley at times seemed tugging at Tom's comfortable silence, but he was having none of it. He simply allowed the exhaust to engage in the necessary bantor.

Ok, ok, I got, you have different bike for that type of terrains. I have only one bike and i use it for adventure, a bit enduro and also long highway trips
