The absurd thing, in my opinion, is that his lawyer's questioning makes one thing clear: Katherine Magbanua is not a criminal mastermind; she acted not only out of financial interest out of her own poverty, but later out of misplaced loyalty to the father of her children and possibly Charlie. She has consistently made bad decisions that have harmed her as well. What it illustrates is how much the multimillionaire Adelson took advantage of these people's poverty to avoid incriminating himself. I have a very clear picture of his client's character - and unlike Magbanua, there is nothing that makes me feel lenient toward him.

💯. I have much more sympathy for Katie than I did during her own trials. Sending her first love after 10 years together, and the father of her children facing a death penalty charge really clears up her motives. I’m sure many women would do the same. Poverty is not a crime.

I came to say the same thing. no idea how the defense attorney thinks he’s going to make his client look good by bullying a broken woman who knows she’s in prison for life. I mean seriously, making her admit the only way she’s leaving prison is in a box? He needs to worry about his client who came from privilege and used that privilege to manipulate under privileged people (who obviously still made incorrect choices) to kill his brother-in-law and an innocent father of two children. What’s the attorneys angle, that Katherine was the mastermind? And if so for what? To impress or extort Charlie? Good luck with that.

I’m not convinced, my theory is: maybe her MaMa was the mastermind. But all these bright minds together, MaMa, DaDa, darling daughter and son, planned everything with such precision to ensure they were untouchable. The others involved were expendable baggage. It was easy to make the hired hit men believe their plan rock was solid and that they were so wealthy, they would all walk away better for it.

Watching this clip after hearing much of Charlie’s testimony today. He portrayed her as desperate to marry him, while he just wanted things to stay the same (ie, no strings attached). So seeing the way he’s looking at her adds a new layer of creepy.

The mere fact that anyone would believe the defenses argument that Mr. Adelson was forced to give hundreds of thousands of dollars to his girlfriend and the killers and never until his arrest reveal he had been extorted by same is beyond ridiculous. Yet some commenters have said they believe him. Strike me dumbfounded.
@sylvaincroissant76504 ай бұрын
Not only that. He was extorted by a gang who killed his ex brother in law on their own initiative, a man that he didn't like but hardly ever saw, hoping that innocent charlie would pay ... meaning the only leverage they had on him was if they went to the police and denounced themselves , (thus spending their life in prison, or risking that fate) and that the police believed them and arrested Charlie... Who comes up with this line of defense?

And Wendi Adelson has immunity. Why would you take immunity? If you’re innocent, I question that.
@habibi750 Жыл бұрын
Wendy’s immunity means nothing. The testimony of other people against her is what matters. For example, if a murderer has immunity and testified that he wasn’t at a certain location, but three other people says he was, the jury will believe the three people
