Gotta love how when Chris Pratt was announced as Mario, people were so quick to say "Martinet has been robbed out of his role" and all that pizzazz, but when Charlie Day was announced as Luigi no one said anything of the sort (this, in spite of the fact that Charles Martinet voices BOTH of the brothers, not just Mario). Selective outrage much? Not that Charlie Day deserves hate, I ultimately enjoyed his performance as Luigi. I'm just saying that it kinda feels like a double standard, if you catch my drift

True that, also I feel like a full Mario ovie with Martinet's voice would've kind of been annoying? imo at least. But he got two roles in the film, as the dude who played the arcade game in the beginning and the brother's father.

I suppose it may also have something to do with the fact that in animated movies even if the main characters are siblings they tend to get different voice actors, so even if Charles Martinet got a main role in the Mario Movie, the outcome of him getting one role would be more likely than him getting both. And since his Mario voice is more iconic and instantly recognizable even to people who aren't fans of the game than his Luigi voice, if Charles Martinet got one role it'd probably be Mario. Having said that I do agree that Chris Pratt haters blew everything way out of proportion and meanwhile Charlie Day haters aren't even a thing. In my time being a Charlie fan I've seen like, two people dislike him and they weren't even aggressive about it either lol

Charlie Day is pretty good in what I’ve seen him in! His voice is hilarious and adorable. Especially when he yells! He was surprisingly great as Luigi I really hope we get a Luigi’s Mansion movie so he’ll get more material to work with! 😄👨🏻‍🔧🧢💚

I remember when I was a little kid I was so excited for the Lego movie, being the huge Lego person I was. I even saw it in theaters. Now for the Mario movie, I found myself just as if not more excited for it and went and saw it a couple days after it released. Funny how both Chris Pratt and Charlie Day were both big parts of both of those movies 😄
