They are taught that the world owes them, there should be no consequences for their actions, and their teachers are completely responsible for their grades and even their behaviors. Personal responsibility got lost somewhere along the way. Fathers not doing their jobs has a great deal to do with it.

@@michaeloday466 Nothing wrong with the word "actually" if it's used as an introductory word for facts that follow. But to used the word "like" seven or eight times in a 20-word sentence is verbal rambling and serves no purpose. It's equivalent to that silly phrase "you know." Both are meaningless and almost always used by people who have trouble expressing themselves. "Like... you know.... like... like... you know... like, uh, you know..." Drives me crazy to hear people express themselves in such a rambling, ignorant way.

It was bad when I was in high school in the 90s. It's the typical verbal filler. Valley girl talk became mainstream in the 80s. "like, um, so , ya' know"

Charlie's point was amazing yet simple. We each have control over fixing ourselves. Start there before trying to fix others. It does not only effect you. Ripples in a pond. I'd i am better, my choice I ldren are better, I treat others better, which will in turn cause them to act better etc etc etc ripples in a pond. Spend your time improving what you are capable of effecteding and it will spread out and eventually the world as a whole improves. Throw temper tantrum and whine and bitch and moan, all that is spreading out from you is hate, dissatisfaction, dissertation and you are mired in that quicksand never moving or improving because you are a child waiting or someone else to come along and fix your problem instead of doing yourself.
