I majored in philosophy and struggled to find a good job right out of school, but now I’m running circles around my business school peers. It just took patience and persistence.

What in particular have you done differently than your business school peers that you think has helped you outperform them? And also are you working in management?

The worst managers were business school types. The best were guys with backgrounds in something substantial like engineering Business school is no better than basket weaving/women's studies majors

Look at Apple. Tim Cook was great for the stock price but innovation has been going down more every year more and more. He came in at a time the smart phones were at their peak and now is seeing the company fall behind and it continue will do so as long as they have an ops guy in charge

The point about fads/hypes in business schools is interesting. I think all schools can suffer from that. I.e. when people follow fashions instead of fundamental knowledge.

IMHO we now live the consequences of over-academization. Universities in general, but B-schools in particular, are promoted just like any other brands.

Regarding their section on the economic system and the security of the USA, maybe spending the last 80 years making international enemies and meddling with other countries isn't a good idea? I don't see that getting better anytime soon. The list of countries that like the USA (government, not people) is getting smaller and smaller, which will mean spending more and more on subversion and defence. They are correct about business school. I loved listening to them. Very knowledgeable and entertaining.

It is not a lie. Talk to boomers about what the family spending in their childhood was like, what they ate for regular meals, what savings their parents had, and how much they inherited. Compare to the generation after boomers. It is not a lie

@@riumudamc4686 Majority of this generation graduate with tons of debt. The kids are starting life in debt. You didn't even need college back then? Now college is a requirement in most decent jobs. Will they even own a house. Dating and marriage is in the dumpster (unless you want to wake up one day and lose everything because someone got bored), some may say the quality of women in general has dropped from the previous generations, or is that a lie? is the truth sexist? The country is in a lot of debt from previous generations. How is that better? The food is definitely shit look at the obesity rate. Health Care costs up (In general), Quality of life is down in general, less in person social gathering, lots of isolation. Minus the race stuff, and improving opportunity for minority groups, technology and entertainment. Almost everything is worse. WAGE GROWTH in general IS EVEN SHIT! Where is the lie here?

@@UJMANOFFICIAL society has gotten a little ahead of itself with the dopamine addictions. Poor people used to be skinny. Some poor people still eat well, but not many. Dopamine distractions have undermined the family. People used to spend time together.

@@riumudamc4686 True. Society values in general have declined. They are not skinny because they are eating cheap junk. I wouldn't even consider it food.
