I remember hearing this album for the first time in Albuquerque on a stopover en route to Aspen to be a ski bum for the second winter in a row, winter of 75-76. I also remember that I had no idea how Charlie was getting those licks. I learned later that I was hearing "third position" harp, something I needed to explore and learn about. Decades later, I leave such special licks to the pros like Charlie and his excellent band members heard here. Thanks so much for sharing this.

reminds me deeply of an oldskool blues band outta Bridgewater NJ known as Nasty Ned and the Famous Chili Dogs whom I dearly miss . great jam, this.

Saw Charlie and this exact group play this number back around 74-75 at the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach. Charlie was unbelieveable, Skip Rose was at his best, and a very young Robben Ford on sax. Just earth-shaking blues...to a kid in his 20's Charlie was (still is) king of the blues. What a memory.

Thank you Bhar, for the note- nice to hear live performances are as good as the recordings. Cheers, D.

I saw them in 73 at the New Orleans House in Berkely, and they were amazing then -- can only imagine how much better they must have been a coupla years later!

I took a workshop that Rob Paparozzi & Robert Bonfiglio gave this past weekend. I had played the Ford Brother's version of "The Promise" for Rob Paparozzi. He said since I liked that, that I'd also like Blue Stu. He sure was right. Harmonica and Jazz go together so nicely.

I heard this track forty-five years ago and spent most of that time hoping I'd come across it again someday. 🎶

Wow, I love all other albums by Mr. Musselwhite, but this one(just found this)- is by far my favorite- such a balance with other instruments. The personalities must have got-along with each other, a respectful balance and creativity with each instrument. Not like some arrangements where the musicians begin to complete with each other. Well done Charlie, thank you - such an inspiring album to reach up to..... Tx., Don
