Some days, I undo my "like" of the video, just so I can like it again. Charlie Parr is the best contemporary musician in the US.

Love my tiny cellphone and youtube, often saving me from hopelessness and despair in my reality of old age, illness and near poverty. This guy sings about life , has a sense of ironical humor and is also a good musician giving it all out in each moment. And the other guy, Tony, doesn't stay behind, what a great duo, thanks for sharing with the world, they are a gem!

I love all Charlie's live performances on KZbin, but this one is especially fun and satisfyingly long for accompanying work. Rob did a great job on sound -- turn it up and go home! Watching Charlie and Tony tap their feet on seemingly entirely different tempos is particularly hypnotic.

At 21.30 "Spread it around" one of the most beautiful positive pieces of poetry I have heard in a long time, reminded me of something from Pete Seager or Perhaps Yarbrough or Arlo or even maybe Bob Dylan. Awesome song with a beautiful and much needed hopeful message. Peace to all of you.

The song that begins at 16:20 is my favorite so far. I love the story. I think you are saying "Remember me if I forget." It would make more sense if you said "Remind me if I forget." Maybe this is what you are saying. I don't mind when I can't always understand a singer. Perfect pronunciation is not the art of song. You could make a subtle switch of this line. You could switch between "Remember me by this," "Remember them for this," and "Remind me when I forget." The verses you have are powerful story telling. I love the song. This song will rise to ballad status with a few more verses. Surely your elders taught you more things than the the couple of things you mention, but definitely stay with the theme of honoring the values received from you elders. Okay, back to listening.
@ericgilbertson57853 жыл бұрын
Agree, love this song. I think he is playing with the idea of remind me vs remember me in the lyrics - partly the idea that if the narrator is gone the story should continue.

From the perspective of someone that has watched a loved one die from Alzheimer's, I'd say the words have great depth of meaning as they are. Remember your parents, remember your grandparents, even if they forget your face, even if they forget themselves. They have lived their whole life for it to come down to this (you taking care of them), and it's not too much to ask, for you to remember them each day. Remember me if I forget (you, me, us)
