He's thinking about how to reduce suffering in the world, and he's activily doing something about it. He's doing the right thing, and he's honest and smart. He's a decent human being and a great role model. What more could a person be?

man..whether you agree with everything about what Neil Young says, it's undeniable that he is a true humanitarian in the sense that he really cares what happens to this planet..and he writes great songs too...

Can't think of anything. That's only one reason I've looked up to him for so many years.

There's certain constraints in the laws of thermodynamics, entropy etc., but that said entropy means the release of heat and other forces which could be conserved, transformed and used for energy. He's a smart guy.

He sounds off the wall, but everything he is saying is so real, if we would have thought about electric vehicles back in the early 70's as a need & not an idea just think about how far we would have come by now.

Tata Motors is to introduce the Air Car to India with a deal with MDI in Europe. Tata Motors is set to start producing the worlds first commercial air-powered vehicle. The Air Car, called the MiniCAT could cost around INRs. 350,000 ($ 8177) in India and would have a range of around 300 km between refuels. The cost of a refill would be about INRs. 85 ($ 2). Tata Motors also plans to launch the worlds cheapest car, Tata Nano priced famously at INRs. 100,000 (£1,200) by October.

Great thinking. But electrical power has to come from somewhere; kinetic energy, hydroelectric, solar, wind, oil, gas, etc. It's like matter, it is not created from nothing. Sure wind power is free, but not the cost, maintenence of the equipment - built from matter and energy. Wind and solar are more expensive than fossil fuels, hydro, or nuclear. I always thought, that sometime in the future, that the energy necessary to operate an auto could be generated by it's own body, a solar collector itself. (that is already happening). So there would be lots of energy collected in daytime, with batteries strong enough to power it at night. Won't work very well in Nunavut, though.

Isn't this a plead for the continuation of the futile search for a perpetual motion machine? Why didn't Charlie Rose make this observation? A: He was gobsmacked ! MESSAGE FOR MR. ROSE. I too make space for Neil Young - but if I sat beside him on a plane there are harder questions I would ask.

The middle conflicts are based on religion not energy. The middle east wars started thousands of years ago between the Jews and the non Jews. The US supports Israel so we are involved in the Middle East. Some of it is oil based, but now a days with fracking, the US has more reserves than Saudia Arabia. Tesla produces electric cars, but they are losing money.

@allnightjohnson I love your point about Neil. You make a GREAT point about good that Neil's done. GREAT! But, even Neil wouldn't agree with ur words--I could go on, but I won't. I'll just ask: who are U? Why are you so violent towards Sarah Palin? What'd she do to you? Did she do anything to Neil? What is she against in the list above? I DARE u to concretely, REASONABLY answer that? U might talk about oil & positions on fuel--but u got nothing to say--u are part of problem

So let me get this straight, you hate his politics? What do you mean? You hate raising money for American farmers put out of business by large agricultural conglomerates?(Farm Aid). You hate breaking our dependence on foreign oil? (he's developing a car that creates it's own fuel). You hate social justice and civil rights? (he's spoken out on those issues). I could go on, but what I'd really like to know is: are you Sarah Palin?

Think of all the fuel used by Neil and his entourage travelling all over the world and the millions of gallons of fuel used by the people going to his concerts. Spare me the virtue signalling, Neil.

@allnightjohnson Ass: you GRATUITOUSLY brought Sarah Palin into a conversation and topic that has absolutley nothing to do with her. Step up and take responsibility--stick to the frigging topic. neil Young is talking about something valuable--why drag Sarah Palin into it and show your prejudice and ignorance?
