No, a runner is someone who actively focuses and trains running, and typically would be considered "good" at it. Not saying your definition is incorrect but you are minimalizing the word. Most definitely skill is a metric used when calling someone a "professional". You are not a professional dog walker because your grandma regularly pays you to walk her dog.

Henry Rollins tells a great story about the time he worked with Sheen on a movie called The Chase. Much of the cast were staying at a hotel near location, including Henry and Charlie. Shooting would commence fairly early in the morning so Henry asked the receptionist for a 6AM lobby call on every day of the shoot. One day, after coming down to the lobby, Henry noticed that Charlie was nowhere to be seen and Henry asked the doorman if he'd seen him. The doorman replied, "Oh yeah, I saw him being helped into the lobby this morning by a few of his buddies." Uh-oh. This wasn't good. The star of the movie had gotten blackout drunk on a shooting day. Surely he'd be in no condition to work. As he was thinking that, the lift in the lobby dinged. Out stepped Charlie, looking pale, sunglasses on, somewhat fragile maybe, but otherwise composed. He went to shoot the day's scenes and did not miss a line. Not only that, but he was pulling double duty - he was filming The Chase during the day, and another movie called Major League during the evening. So, he was working 12 hour days at least, plus partying until the sun came up. And we wonder why he did drugs....

Always considered Jon to be the best actor of the whole show, he played the role to perfection, loved his chemistry with Charlie especially when they went hard against their mom or Judith, also loved their fights. Charlie was second to me, he basically only played himself but did so brilliantly. Herb, Kandi and Berta are the best supporting characters. Really enjoyed Angus as well. Rose and Evelyn also added to the show. Never felt it with Judith, Lindsey and Chelsea.

You can say whatever you want about Charlie Sheen, but that show was hilarious with him. Between him, Alan, Jake and Bertha that show was great. It was not at all surprising it was impossible to replace Sheen lol

I thought Sheen had become detached emotionally from the show near the end. Not in anything he did specifically but just the entire mood of the show. It was weird but describing it as being somewhat ‘off’ is really accurate in my opinion.

10 March 2021: I have always liked and respected both of them. I've always felt like they are good Americans. Both portrayed relevant and vital characters in cinema. Sheen in "Platoon " did a great portrayal of an idealistic American youth realizing the horror of a 🇺🇸 US war in Asia.

For me, Alan was the best and most important character of the show. That's why it could still survive without Charlie and thrive, albeit being pretty much a different show with Ashton Kutcher. For comparison, removing Alan instead of Charlie would have killed the whole show

removing Alan could've work but there would be a spot needed to be filled by someone since it was never a one man show. It could be Jake filling that role or a new character, Berta could've gotten a bigger role too. The show was great at showing the 2 ends of the spectrum remove one and it doesn't quite work, Kutcher was an attempt to fill Charlie's role but backfired and ended up being half and a half men.

He handled that question majestically, you can see the respect he has for Charlie not only from a professional standpoint but a personal one. Charlie’s personal issues have become so engrained in pop culture and synonymous with who he is that we neglect there was a human suffering from all too familiar and common affliction. The notoriety from his public bravado created this cult image of him that ultimately was a smokescreen causing the entire world to dehumanise him and somewhat celebrate his downfall. That’s just the nature of celebrity unfortunately Britney Spears is another prime example of fragile people being considered fair game all because they’re in the public eye. It was refreshing to hear Jon Cryer talk about Charlie like he’s an actual human being as opposed to some Hunter S Thompson like Cartoon character
