I hope to god it's not Wiccan because I think is a total miscast because the character is supposed to be Jewish and the actor is Catholic. Not to mention, Marvel, excuse me, Disney loves baiting in on the LGBT stuff and lying to fans to get butts in seats. I honestly would rather watch Heartstopper which you can tell that looks like a good show. Also the comics are really sweet and at least that's how you handle representation. Ok so I decided to rewatch this after getting back into my Heartstopper phase but I wanna appreciate how they didn’t make Charlie the full “soft boy” stereotype and give him some moments of snark and sass and he knows when to joke around. He isn’t just “Oh I’m just a sad soft introvert boy 😔” and feels like a real person- Alice had the opportunity to make him one dimensional and boring but went above and beyond! I hope I can read more of her books when I get the chance

Joe Locke has some really beautiful under-appreciated silent moments in the show where he expresses so much in his face without ever overacting or being showy. One is in the scene where Nick is having his crisis and the other is in the scene where they kiss at the bowling alley - he just has this look of pure patience, understanding, and reassurance. And that scene with Tori is my favourite in the show. I'm so excited to see him tackle Charlie's difficult story ahead. Incredible that this is his first role!

Even if I identify more with Nick when it comes to the discovering your sexuality part, definitely my favorite character in both the novels and the show is Charlie. Aside from the fact that I find him a very lovable character full of kindness, I think he is a very well-constructed character in terms of what happens after coming out and the long-term consequences of bullying.
