Neither have I, but it makes sense. Toby was preying on a very common theme from some older RPGs. Nowadays "Farming" is not that common anymore, as most new games lean more towards being easy so anyone can complete them. But if you have played some more classic RPGs and you come in to this with that mentality...its super natural to farm.

It doesn't have to be Chara, the name of the fallen human is the name you choose, in this video it's Charle. If you type Chara, the game says "The true name"

Sad thing is … I don’t think you CAN do a pacifist run after a geno run. The game will call you out on it.

@@ten5h1 you could if you gave up before you entered asgore's room. That's not a full geno run but you saw most of what it had to offer. You can also just delete your save file which removes the souless ending from being possible.

If you do play it again, I'd recommend not killing anybody. You also could have been better friends with Undyne and Alphys. Or kill them all - I'm not your boss. This is probably the first totally blind playthrough I've seen somebody do, and it was really fun to watch because of it. Loved watching you make all those "mistakes" and realize it as you went lol. Definitely my favorite game; hope to see you do another run.

I still very strongly remember in my first playthrough, I didn't realize I could spare Toriel and I thought if I got her health low enough she would just say I passed the test or something (the insta-kill only happens in genocide route). Instead she warned me about Asgore and said to "be good my child" before dying. I was so distraught I reset the game and looked up how to spare her. Then I went into the next room... and Flowey said... I know what you did. You murdered her. And then you went back, because you regretted it. Ha ha ha ha... You naive idiot. Do you think you are the only one with that power? The power to reshape the world... Purely by your own determination. The ability to play God! The ability to "SAVE." I thought I was the only one with that power. But... I can't SAVE anymore. Apparently YOUR desires for this world override MINE. Well well. Enjoy that power while you can. I'll be watching. Ah -- sparing Doggo is what redeemed you from "the genocide route". Otherwise your character would not have listened to any of the puzzles in Snowdin forest. Some of the secrets you found or identified: - Dodging Flowey's "friendliness pellets" - The "genocide route" - Eating a spider item wins the Muffet battle - Eating the Pie during the Asgore battle - Each of Photoshop Flowey's "soul" attacks (knife, frying pan, etc.) ARE symbolic of the previous six humans, and DO correlate with each weapon you can acquire during the game

Honestly I love that this game has fallen out of the public eye because it let's playthroughs like this happen. I love that it got the recognition it deserved but it is also just the kind of game that is greatly improved by you going in completely blind and coming out shocked but all that you saw.... or did in some cases. It's just cool to see someone experience the same lesson about empathy and subverting expectations that so many others missed because they played after they had already watched the two different routes.

I say you should definitely give it a try again soon! and after your 2nd attempt you should play again with genocide as that will basically complete the puzzle of undertale.

It's SO funny seeing how you somehow managed to start the genocide run going in completely blind, generally most people don't have the patience to grind that much on their first run. It was really fun to watch :) you probably noticed, but once you spared someone the game kinda settled back into normalcy and didn't scream "but nobody came" and "16 left" at you anymore, so you one of many neutral endings. If you kept grinding, the game would've gone a very, very different route. Lmao If you want to do this again and play a pacifist run, you'll have to delete your save in your files, one of the characters will remember if you try to play again and I think won't let you get the pacifist ending even if you play the route correctly. All you have to do after deleting that save file is play and spare EVERYONE, and never hurt anyone, and also go on all the "dates". You can play the entire game without fighting, until reaching Asgore. Hope that helps! I think you'd have a lot of fun

She only needs to reset and she'll be able to get the pacifist run. And you can totally hurt many monsters into submission and get the pacifist ending, as long as you don't kill anything. The game isn't meant to be tedious. (I used to be obsessed with that game)

I play violin so I’m able to play almost all the songs(which is amazing!) I have a best friend that also just got into Undertale and Deltarune so we are able to have fun discussing it together. I found things Undertale related (for example, Undertale the Musical and the 5th anniversary concert) that I enjoyed a lot. It’s really nice to see that the fandom is still alive.
