I'm the exact opposite. I LOVE the summer. Longer days, trips to the lake, all the plants are green and flourishing, all the animals and wildlife are out and about, I don't have to worry about hitting black ice while driving, and I don't have to dress in three layers just to enjoy the outdoors. Winter is just too dormant for me. Hardly any foliage, really short days, most wildlife is holed up until spring, cold as hell. I enjoy skiing and winter camping every now and then, but I'll always take summer over winter.

Right? There are some real stakes involved in living in the winter vs summer. Winter is living! Don't get me wrong, summer is fun too- (not the sun burns and humidity and mosquitos) but the freedom is nice. Mostly other people will join me outside in the summer.

@@justsomenobody889 I have never understood it either. We could probably get a couple of million dollar grant from the government to study this phenomenon. Why they don't pay attention when taking things apart and then wind up with extra parts, and will die before reading the directions that come with anything. Not only that, they will take something out of the box, decide it's too big of a job so they will leave it for later, then put everything back in the box EXCEPT the directions. Later, they will tell you if you want it so bad, YOU can put it together. Which would be a lot easier if they hadn't lost the directions.

@@justsomenobody889 Core temperature is more important than limb temperature. Our digits are almost certainly warmer than yours. A friend of mine presented an evolutionary guess about that. It's more advantageous to the proliferation of the species for the female to prioritize good temperatures in the body's core to preserve life organs and reproductive organs. Males don't have that need so much, so our digits get to be warmer with a more even blood distribution.

It's the same principle that as long as you wear your pants everyday they fit, but as soon as you put them in the closet for a couple of months, they're too small. If you lift 100 lbs. a day, when would you not be able to lift it anymore? The answer: You could do it until you went to Florida for a two week vacation. The wind was howling and it snowed all night long. I loved being out there, it felt like being on the side of Rainier. It snowed the entire next day and I slept outside the second night too. That night.. It was so still and silent outside. So peaceful. My wife and our friends all wondered why I would do that. Easy explanation.. Getting an opportunity to try out gear to see what works and what doesn't before getting onto the side of a mountain to figure it out is priceless to me. I Love being out in the snow.

Back when I lived in the midwest, I liked snow well enough. Then I moved down south, thought I could drive these hilly, curving, unplowed backroads in "just a little bit of snow", and discovered the joys of black ice where it melted and refroze overnight and treatment was a bag of kitty litter on the driveway if you're lucky. Down here, I'm firmly in the hater camp.
