Hey Charlie, I love your lessons. In this video your diagrams are showing the next octave, not upside down... at 9:32 you say 4th fret at low E string but the diagram at that moment is showing 16th fret on low E string..it's exactly the same shape, but learning players might be confused, especially if they don't know tabs or chord charts. The lesson is killer anyway , thank you.

Another great lesson Charlie!! Something I’m still trying to understand though is why are 7th chords/arpeggios so heavily focused on? As opposed to regular major chords/arpeggios? (root, third and fifth)
@CharlieLongGuitar6 ай бұрын
I’ve done several videos on triads - so important! Sometimes you just need a different “spice” so to speak. 🎸🎶

@@CharlieLongGuitar it’s just I see A LOT of 7th lessons, not just you but other instructors, just trying to understand why 7th are so heavily taught?

@@epiphone278Because it sounds better than plain Jane major and minor?

@@epiphone278 that one extra note can really add some color. It’s just another tool for the toolkit; AND they aren’t always appropriate. Sometimes triads sound so good…other times you want to hear a little more.

Because you need them for blues (and rock), which uses 7th chords.

Yep…but playing different arpeggios back to back and most of all getting familiar with changing note functions might be an eye opener for some folks 🎸🎶🎶🔥
