The CPL is a league I've enjoyed following for the last few years. The league offers a brand of football that has a fun atmosphere and is uniquely Canadian. In this video, I showcase cities across Canada that I think deserve a CPL club.

It's great that there are those adding CPL content to KZbin, but it would also be nice if they had their facts right. The comments regarding York United are very inaccurate. York 9 WAS founded to represent the nine regional municipalities of the York region, but the Club quickly realized this was a mistake, and underwent a complete rebrand for the third CPL season. York United was created to very much include Toronto into the fold - one of the previous alternate team logos even has the CN Tower in it. The club's official colours include "Lake Ontario Blue", and the new crest was inspired by the Queen's York Rangers (Fort York, Toronto). In the new team identity, York now directly refers to Toronto's historical name of York. Having a stadium in Markham would completely counter what the team has become. Moving to Lamport Stadium - a stone's throw from BMO Field - would make far more sense, but the real hope is for the proposed stadium at Woodbine.

Agree. CPL's website literally lists York United as representing the 'Greater Toronto Area'. Woodbine and Lamport would both be much better locations than Markham.

There was no mention to a NB club. Moncton has a stadium ready for action and would draw from the entire province. PS: Thanks for including St, John's (which is pronounced: SINjawhns

If you split into conferences you lose the biggest rivalries in the league. And as a Forge Fan from Kitchener, I am really hoping for a team in town to save that hour drive.

Well, CPL Commissioner Mark Noonan has stated that the league will split into east and west divisions as it grows, so it's an inevitability at this point.

St. John's has a stadium. King George V Park has a field turf surface and seats 10000 normally but can be expanded to 13000 when needed. A second FIFA - quality pitch is being build for the 2025 Canada games. Soccer is an incredibly popular youth sport in Newfoundland.

Should have given? To who? You need owners that are willing to put up millions of dollars to do so and these places don't have that. I'm certain all these places would be considered if there was an ownership group available. Maybe we should start ask8ng why Canadian Hollywood superstars like Ryan Reynolds want to invest in clubs like Wrexham instead of areas in their own country. Can you imagine if Hollywood stars starting clubs in the CPL? The money to start a club would be loose change in the golf shorts for these actors and celebrities
